Air filters are only going to vary in how well they fit unless you are doing the Baja 1000 with your truck. What is important is to understand that air (and fuel) filters are least effective when they are new. They are all designed to provide an adequate supply of air to the engine for thousands of miles as they are increasingly loaded. When new they have a lot more gaps and fewer particulates are trapped by the filter media.
The older the filter gets the more particles it traps and keeps them from getting inside the engine. Important for air filters but critical for fuel filters where the particles hit the injectors at very high speeds.
