So I'm going to be trading my dually with a 68rfe and 4.10s to go back to a srw. I'm leaning towards a 2500 this time with the cummins, but have been thinking about getting an AISIN 3500 just for something different. I've never owned a high output cummins, always had a 68rfe. I've test driven a few AISINs over the years and they seemed like busier transmissions and more commercial feeling which isn't a bad thing.
I tow roughly 15-17 days per month and each of those days its about 60-75 miles/day. Its a 24' enclosed trailer, nose heavy so the tongue weight makes a standard 3500 squat 2" and its loaded typically 8000-12000 lbs.
Do you think the AISIN is worth it or stick with the 68rfe and save a few thousand bucks?
