Hey everyone,
I live in California and I have an upcoming trip up some mountains. Unfortunately, CA requires snow chains under certain conditions, regardless of 4x4 capability, snow tires, studded tires, etc. I drive a 2022 Rebel and the owner's manual says that it's unchainable. Wondering if anyone has used a solution or has experience using the AutoSock on the Rebel.

I haven't used them but, cable chains look like they could work for you. I have considered them for my lawn tractor but as yet have not tried them.

Have you ever had to put them on? Mandatory chain up is usually a last resort before a road closure. If it's just about regulations and likely will never mount them just grab a set of cables for the rear and leave them in the truck. You can mount chains on the rear though if you actually need them regardless of what the manual says.

I was just trying to look this up
Seems pretty odd that the "Off Road" equipped version of the 1500 would not be chainable.....
It's not going to stop snowing here for a few months

I have 4x4 quad cab. They gave no clearance for chains. I installed 1.5“ Bora wheel spacers To eliminate that problem. I take them off after winter.

I have 2013 crew cab 4x4. There is very little clearance between brake line and wheel. Even with cable chain, I'm worried that if something comes a little loose, it'll take out a brake line.
And I wonder why Ram didn't provide more clearance for chains on a 4x4.

I wonder if a set of rims with a different offset would be enough to move the tires away from the brake lines and calipers?
I don't know enough about the subject to have an opinion, just throwing it out there to see if it would work......

In Califunny there are many snow areas where the CHP demands chain up regardless of vehicle or tire type or snow conditions.

When I purchased my 2016 and my 2020 I had to sign a form that I would not chain up.

The Manuals say no chains on front and S class for 1500, U class for 25-3500.

There are several posts where owners report the ability to chain up with no problems. I believe it depends on wheel and tire size.

I purchased auto Socks to be safe but so far have not needed to use them

Do the auto socks meet the requirements for chain laws?

4 Gen 2016 , 2in lift with 32’s can only chain up the rear,
the front wheel wells do not give enough clearance.
My snow rated BFG’s are pretty nice though.
