Has anyone had experience running aluminum chrome wheels in the winter? If so, how do they stand up to the salt and snow?

I've run them before and its been my experience that they don't hold up very well. I had them on my 03 Mustang GT that never saw road salt. They were starting to corrode around the valve stem and center cap areas when I sold it.
