Uhm. The fill plug should be a plastic/rubber piece on the actual cover shouldn't it? I'm not entirely sure what that is.

That might be a port for a temp sensor. I don't believe the OEM covers have drain ports. You have to purchase an aftermarket such as the mag-hytech to get the port. Gotta take the cover completely off to drain it.

If you're looking for a drain port, they don't have em. If you're looking for the fill port. It's the rubber plug on the front.

To drain it, you just have to start pulling the bolts until fluid flows out.

11's and up had a TSB for some drain back thing and they also changed to the plastic plug cover from the older rear ends.

I had this before the TSB

Okay, I'm following. I was planning on removing the cover to drain. So to fill it I should look for a rubber plug?

Yep! There's one on the front like Matt showed. If you don't have it...I don't know how you'd change it. So might need to pick one up from the dealer if not.

eruqemyr.jpge6y3agah.jpg I can't find a rubber plug. That hex head is the only thing that is a hole. Wtf?!

I don't know...looks like the fill plug on my '05 Magnum to me...what else would they use? I've never seen anything different and I've been doing this a long time.

Refer to Matt's post. He had to have his gear cover replaced because they didn't put a rubber plug in the front.

I swapped the diff cover in the back so I could have a threaded plug with hex head like you showed because I did not like only having a rubber stopper only in there. How in the world did they even fill those axles without the fill hole that is crazy.

that hex head is the fill hole apparently on my differential... took about 2.7 quarts and limited slip additive. The front one was a rubber stopper, which i'm not the biggest fan of...
