AMP research steps and obd-II

Quick question for anybody with experience.

Has anybody needed to get a part replaced under warranty from AMP Research?

Bought auto running boards. Fully installed but do not activate with doors. Any of the doors. I followed the advice on their website to troubleshoot and determined the OBD II sensor was the issue. I reached out to AMP via phone and the rep told me to fill out a warranty claim and within 1-3 business days someone would respond. It has now been another phone call with no further information and 14 days.

Has anybody gone this route to replace a problem part? Does this just take time? I can be patient but we know these board are expensive and we would like them to work as they should.

I had a controller replaced by them but it was years ago. No issues at all, a phone call to explain the issue and do the recommend trouble shooting and they sent out a new controller. It was an easy process.

With that said I believe Amp was recently bought out by Real Truck so the customer service may have changed?

Correct, and real truck is who answers the phone and then redirects to website. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Closing this thread- I ended up sending a pm to the real truck rep who reached out. They worked magic and got me in contact with a rep from amp research within 2 business days. We were able to discuss and come to a solution rather quickly. STEPS WORK GREAT NOW! Appreciate the responses on here and the support!

I have an issue with my amp steps. Driver side is intermittent and mostly does not engage. I did the test with the two purple wires coming from the obdII plug. I contacted Real Trucks/Amp Research, and they said the OBDII plugs are on a national backorder and don't know when they will be available. This is very inconvenient for me because I am handicapped and need the steps. I'd like to hard wire at least the driver side steps but am not sure exactly how to do that. I know that the purple wire with black stripe is the driver sidestep ground wire but I'm not sure how to connect it to something that would trigger the step to come down and back up again. I'm thinking a delayed relay may be the trick but not sure. If anyone has done this can you share your information, please.
