Hello!

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic that has the 8.4c radio with Android auto but interior is pretty basic otherwise. I bought a salvage 2015 ram with the full console and leather seats. I've swapped the parts out to move the console from the 2015 to the 2019 and everything went well. Problem is my android auto will no longer function. I'm certain I'll need a new wiring harness and maybe some other parts like the "media center" Has anyone done this particular swap before and got the Android auto to work properly?

Thanks!

You will have to use your USB hub out of the jump seat. Get the wiring harness out of the jump seat to use in the console. The older hubs will not support Android auto data function. I had to reshape the console to get the compatible hub to fit in it. Just take your time and whittle on it. You will have to disassemble the jump seat pretty far to get the wiring harness attached the USB to a point that will plug back into your existing harness of your truck. Don't use any of the older center console harness, just take it out. I then hard wired the USB for the back seat, they are charge only.

Conversely, you could purchase the updated USB hub and then get a conversion harness from forum vendor @Mpgrimm2 . It'll make for a very clean install...

He could purchase that for sure.

He already has what he needs on hand. My install looks fine. When everything is back together you can't see the wiring harness anyways.
