Annoying thing re chrome on interior of 2014 Ram

I have a 2014 Ram Sport. I really like it for the most part. One very annoying thing for me is the reflections you get from the interior lights. Its the little LED light that lights the centre console. It reflects off the chrome trim around the storage bin/cup holder. I see the reflection in my side windows and in my peripheral vision its like a vehicle is coming at you. I drive a lot of country roads with almost no traffic and find it annoying. Especially in winter storm conditions when you're having trouble seeing and you see what you think are lights coming at you from both sides. Might not be as noticeable if you're in traffic most of the time. I usually put a hat or something over the chrome. When I have time Id like to take that chrome out and paint it black. Any one else feel this way and try to fix it?

a lot of people have painted, plasti dipped or vinyl wrapped the chrome ring on the center console. I did mine on my truck not because of the map light but because of blinding sun reflections off of it.

For sure somebody will tell you to Plastidip it ... But I’d rough it up a lil with extra fine steel wool, prime it, paint it, and clear it ... It can all be done with rattle cans, and keep it matte black to match the rest of the console

I have the newer console design but I vinyl wrapped mine and since i had enough left over I also did the chrome ring around the radio and vents
