So my dealer has had my truck for a week and says they are going to replace the chmsl and rear window leak and fix the water stains on the headliner. But they aren’t committing to fixing the rear carpeting that turned all moldy. Full disclosure my Dad passed away and I gave his 19 longhorn w/25000 miles that was always garaged to my son who is going to college.

My question is, has anyone been denied getting the ruined carpet replaced? Also, how long has it taken. It’s already been a week and they haven’t actually done anything.

Thanks for any input.

No idea on the carpet issue but there are many stories of dealers taking their sweet time (weeks/months) to do repairs in the last few years. The excuse was parts delays due to 'rona but now I think between a tech shortage and just not caring about customers in general you may still have to wait. Independent shops are usually better but I have my own issues with them too. At least the ones near me.

The TSB says to clean the headliner, it doesn't say anything about carpet. Good luck.

I'm wondering if they're holding off on the repair because of the revised TSB for the rear window fix that just dropped. They're no longer replacing the rear window. Instead, they are running a bead of urethane over the top of the rear window...

WOW! Talk about taking the ultimate cheap out. Broken frame, just put a bead of urethane around and it's fixed, repair is now a backyard fix to save money on a faulty design. Last lawsuit was dismissed because the plaintiff didn't show it was caused by a faulty design. The TSB says it's manufactoring issue, maybe time for anther lawsuit with this TSB as a reference.
