Big, three, 3, big three, big 3.. all too short to search for with the current forum search policies..

Are there any ongoing threads, discussions, or how-to's on doing the big three in our trucks that may have happened before i joined that i can't find?

How To: Big 3 Upgrade - Knowledge Base

1) Alternator positive cable that runs to the positive terminal of the battery
2) Negative battery cable that runs from the battery to the vehicles chassis
3) Chassis grounding cable that runs to the engine block

Frankly I don't know what makes them big three except to an audiophile.

Those are not common or 'first tier' mods. Yes, they help with your sound system, and there are plenty of complaints about the OEM Alpine systems, but not a lot of action on those mods thus far.

They just don't add exterior appearance or driving performance and that seems to be what trends most often on RF.

A couple of audio threads that may scratch your itch:

For the true audio guys, they'll appreciate the big three for sure. Perhaps its not needed on the Ram, not sure. I've only had my truck for 2 weeks, so still learning.

I know on vehicles prior, it was one of the first things i sought to do.

So far from some of the builds I've seen it doesn't look like anyone is running enough power to look into do the big 3. The guys that are running desent power have very efficient amplifiers. Unbroken's build thread comes to mind on this. I myself will be doing this even though I probably won't need to until I start looking into strapping a couple of small amps together.

I'll be running two amps on 1/0 power cable. While the draw isn't gigantic, i like having the little bit extra.. It's an easy, cheap upgrade.

I did the big 3 on my truck only because my battery is on the opposite end of the truck. I don't even have an aftermarket stereo yet.

It isn't any different than doing it on another vehicle so you probably won't find many "how to"s. I can get you some pictures of mine a little later.
