Awesome! I'm really glad to hear it, especially that the exhaust note is deeper. Would you say it made your exhaust more quite at all? I'm kind of worried that when I do my Y pipe I'll lose some sound in my exhaust. I wanna avoid that if possible since I have the magnaflow 18" so it already isn't the loudest out there.

I have the flowmaster 70 on my truck. It's basically their quietest muffler. If I lost decibels, it's very little.

I'm about to do the magnaflow 18 and Y pipe along with the VR and 87mm TB. I can let you know how the sound ends up. I noticed a nice rumble from adding the VR and TB already.

I got the 18" magnaflow put on this morning. It's got some good sound to it. Not much at idle. It does seem to have a real low drone I can hear in the cab around 1700rpm about 50-55. Not sure if its catching my ear so much since its a new noise or if its gonna be something i hear long term. I tried switching to manual to get it out of MDS to see if thats the issue but my truck doesn't like that so I had to put it back in AT. It's got good sound on acceleration. I can tell theres some good power there with the mods so far. I haven't got a chance to get it up to hwy speeds to see if there's any inside noise. I'm hoping once it gets into higher RPMs at hwy speed it will quit down. I dont want the little ones to have headaches from inside noise. I'm wondering if it will mellow some as it breaks in. Anyone know? I didn't put the Y pipe in yet. They looked at it and were like oh ****. This is gonna take longer than we thought. They originally said $120 for both installations. Now they're saying $65 for muffler then $120 for Y pipe due to 1.5 hrs labor. Does this sound right or am I getting bait and switched.

Agreed. The muffler shop that installed my muffler said $70 on the phone and when I got there wanted $90. They did a great job so I gave them $80. When I went in for the y-pipe quote, they said $120 and i said "can you do it for $90?" I paid $90.

I knew $120 was cheap for both. I just wasn't sure what people are paying for both. Ill try and talk to him tomorrow and see if he will help me out any. I just didn't want to talk out my ass and say it should be $X and everyone else is paying more. Just trying to figure out what a reasonable price is.

The price I paid for both installs is very reasonable in my opinion. If I had done them at the same time, I may have gotten a better price. Not sure though.

As far as your exhaust noise, give it at least a couple weeks to break in before you judge it too harshly.

Got the Y pipe on today. I'm not sure if its the Y pipe or more miles the the droan has lessened a little bit. Regardless with the VR, 87mm TB, Y pipe, and MF this thing has some power. After resetting the computer mileage seemed a little bitter but its too early to know for sure yet. Definitely lighter on its feet though.

Glad to hear! Congrats on the mods.

I wish that 87mm TB wasn't so much. I could probably pull the trigger for $200. I can't justify the $350. What's the payoff period from the gain/s? 5 years? That's the way I look at mods. Will they pay themselves off and how quickly. I'm all about increasing my MPG. And no, I don't want a Prius. Love my truck
