The sensors for auto headlights and auto wipers are in the ********* box (bottom right of pic in post #1) and directly on the back of the mirror.

I was on my phone before and only saw the bigger black box behind the mirror, the rain sensor is behind the ********* box. The little one by the headliner is the humidity sensor, if you have the auto temp hvac then you will have the humidity sensor.

The humidity sensor is used in order to maximize the dehumidifying effect of the A/C.

Well hopefully you got the answer to your question. I know for a fact it is not the remote start because I just installed the OEM remote start and the antenna is in the headliner in the rear.

Again, then why does mjd91 not have the box? He claims he has the auto hvac funtion. The only explanation in this case would be that they moved it for 2014. My truck is a regular cab so i cannot have the fancy air bs but i know the wiring for the remote start is in the front for me.

I think you're the only one paying attention. Lol

Edit: unless like said below, it is an addition to the 14's.

Because the 2013s don't have the humidity sensor, as far as I can tell with my service information, it was added for 2014 models.

Mine was actually missing the cover when I bought it. There is a small fuse under the cover. Not entirely sure what it's for though.

Maybe it's a gps tracker from your bank, so they can find the truck if you miss a payment.

I believe you're right. You can see a sensor pressed against the windshield.

Yes, that is the rain sensor. BUT, the OP is asking about a device mounted higher on the windshield! The "Rain Sensor" and "High Beam Sensor" are both mounted in a box behind the mirror.

My mistake. I looked at it too quickly.

Could it be a humidity sensor then... Someone call Dodge!

.....It's the humidity sensor, this was answered on page 3. It was first introduced on the 2014 models.

correct.......thier either on the windshield or behind the bumper or grill

The humidity sensor won't be mounted outside. It's purpose is to help improve dehumidifying of the HVAC system. The ambient temp sensor will be outside, they used to be behind the grille, but now they are part of the driver side exterior mirror.
