Was suggested to move from "The Lounge" to "The Great Outdoors."

No matter your preference; cruising, racing, or a combination of both, it is the most relaxing activity I have ever been involved in. Sure, I have seen my share of foul weather where it got very exciting, but by and large, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

So, here's your chance to strut your stuff! Let's see what you set sail with!

    Cheers

    Bob

Mine: 1999 Catalina 36 MkII, coastal New England cruising ground from Maine to Long Island Sound including the Elizabeth Islands and Block Island. Home port of East Greenwich, RI.

Being in the NAVY myself and doing sea duty time I would love to have a small boat and become a recreation sailor. You have a very nice set up! Someday my wife and I will get sometime but it will be more along the lines of a sport boat to take to the river/lake.

This is what I went out into the high seas with, CVN70 USS Carl Vinson.

“fair winds and following seas” to you!

My son was in the Navy. He served on the USS Bradley (now razor blades). They medically retired him a few years ago. Knocked off the top of a cargo container during a boarding off Venezuela and landed on his head. But he's doing okay now.

If I was single when I joined the military the Navy would have been my first choice. The Navy is rough on a marriage. I joined the USAF instead, retired in 1994.

    Safe deployments to you!

    Cheers

    Bob

    Well..., Sort of.
I sail (Race) Radio Control sailboats. I have 3, an EC12, Soling 2 Meter and a Lazer.
This is a pic from our Valentines day Regatta.
And have also manned the tiller on a friends boat.

    Nice Catalina

Had a Venture Of Newport 23, but a tree fell on it a few years back. I have an old Catalina 22 that I need to get to work on over the winter so she's ready to go in the spring.

I'm retired Navy but my current job gets me out to see periodically!! Is that considered "recreational"? LOL

Nope, Ft' Lauderdale. They race the Lazers in Naples, I just never have the time to make the trip.
