2013+ > 09-12 and it’s not even close. I’ve owned and worked on many of each, the 13+ are so much nicer trucks. More oem and aftermarket support and parts availability too. Not that the 09-12 are bad trucks by any means, but 13+ is when they really perfected the 4th generation, and in my opinion when ram trucks peaked.

Its not that we cant... we currently do. It is just a "nicer" truck and not a 4X4 for driving on the sand. (which that comment alone will spark a whole other controversy. lol)
Makes sense.... wasn't sure if you wanted a nicer truck to fish or a worse one :) I've seen fishing boats from $50 to $5,000,000 :) :)

If you can step up to a Cummins you will not regret it. Yes, more money but, more grunt than most folks can ever use.
My 18 has been perfect, one minor recall. The 17 and 19 not so much...
If you look at any Cummins packages, focus on the Aisin trans equipped trucks.

The best RAM is the one that everyone has in their driveway where they can go out, turn key or remote start. Truck goes vroom and away we go. The only year on 1500 stay away may be a 2014 from wat I have read. If U can get a 1500 with 8 speed but remember 4 X 4’s in 1500s are clutch pack driven. If U plan on real hard .4 X 4 u may wanna step up to 2500 . All IMHO.
