Looking for thoughts on these in my crew cab. Thinking it's going to sound better than a regular box

They're good, but for the money I'd go with a better sub and cheaper box. You looking at the single or dual 10 box?

Just a single, I want to keep one side of the under seat storage

Had a stealth box in my '98 with a Kicker 12" dual 4ohm CompVR. They are pricey, but convenient and sound great.

Here's mine. The fit isn't as good as I expected. I've dropped things down there and had to take it out to get it. The sound is good and the box is solid. Just not good enough for what they charge imho.

Here's how big the gap is on both sides. Why not use that space to lower the box more?15558632823235439332645481997448.jpg

I sure like mine. It was expensive but it sure does sound good. Just hooked it straight to the factory sub harness. Used the JL Amp that they recommend you use with it. Had to take the fold-out floor but it’s ok, I don’t use it anyway. Didn’t use it in the old truck, either. Better bass is worth it more than that floor is.

Got the remote volume knob for it too. Mounted it below the dash on the right side kick panel, where the floor duct is.

I have the jl sub that goes in the single in closure but bought a cheaper box. Not sure if I just havent got my adjustments right or what but havent been all that impressed with it. Wish I would have just bought the jl box and sub as the set and payed a lil more. Will prolly play around with it more next month

The 10w3 is more of a punchy sub and doesn't play all that low at least not at any real volume so it may just be you had higher expectations than that sub will meet. Some of the cheaper boxes aren't the most rigid or airtight though. There's guys running jl audio w6 subs in the netaudio tall boxes with good results so if it was my money and I didn't want to go custom fibreglass that would be my choice. A net audio single 10 low box with a sundown sa10 will kick the crap out of the jl 10w3 single side box and free up an extra 100+ for a bigger amp since it'll take 750rms.

Went with the upgraded 12Tw3 in a prefab, needs a little more volume so I run a passive radiator. Had to shim the sub 3/4” inch along with the seats.

There are a plethora of options as good or better than w3s in the ~500 watts RMS range, but you’re going to have to do more fab work than a plug and play stealthbox.

My floor is still in use, but I had to lift the seat and lift the load floor off the frame slightly and it's not as well supported as I'd like. Kind of a sore point as the jl audio rep told me it would retain the load floor as I said I use it a lot and if it had to come out I didn't want the box. His wording was load floor cam be retained. Turns out the floor could stay in. Just can't use it.

So do you lose the floor no matter the combo? I really use mine alot

Takes me less than 15 minutes to pull out and swap in the factory equipment, including fold out floors.
Without electric tools, it may take up to an hour.

Love mine!! Super solid build, tight accurate, more bass that I’ll ever need. Then again, I’m 50 years old, I’m not in to vibrate my windows, I like clean, precise, tight bass, this JL box does exactly that

Well if you’re not needing as much bass and want something much better than what the factory puts in, you could always go with the single stealth box and still retain half of your fold out floor with no modification hardly. Or you could do what BWL did and raise your rear seat to keep full functionality of it.

But yeah, it is kinda ****** that JL says you can retain your factory floor when you can’t even fold it out flat.

This is what it looks like unmodified. There’s plenty of clearance folded up in the first couple pics but folded out it looks like the roof of a house. Lol.

I just looked at the install instructions for the MTX Thunderform box I had in my old 08 Ram, and it even clearly states in the installation manual that for models with the fold out cargo floor, it must be removed prior to installation.
