I was told today that you can no longer order a 23', but now a 24'. No pricing available, but the order can be placed. According to this, the 68rfe returns and the wheelbase appears to be the same. tempImageIUFHWj.jpg

I've heard that too, that '23s are done and they're moving to '24 orders. The 68RFE isn't "back", we've got that one in our '23 dually.

If you are going to order a 2024 I suggest you do it ASAP. You will most likely not see it until next spring. Ordered my 2023 in October of 2022. No confirmed delivery date yet. 7 months and counting.

Ordering a 2024 in May, you could see it in November
Usually one of the first times that we get a chance to see the new model year, is at the Texas State Fair.
Just after that, they start arriving

June 5th, the Ram starts taking Fleet Orders

The Ram assembly plant in Saltillo Mexico begins production of the 2024 Heavy Duty Ram models on July 10th

I think if people were more adamant about it - like cancelling their orders if the vehicle isn't delivered in a reasonable period of time (say 120 days) - then these dealerships and whoever else is in charge of delivery would be more amenable to getting them their truck before next year's model comes out.

Maybe you missed it but rail & truck transportation is the problem for getting trucks delivered in a reasonable time frame... I was lucky my truck only sat in the Spokane WA rail yard for 3 weeks before it was released to the transport truck, it also took 6 weeks to get to the Spokane yard once it crossed the border into the US... I have read of others whos truck spend 120+ days at the rail yard before being released for the delivery truck to pick up...

That is mostly the fault of the trucking companies that pick up vehicles at the Rail Heads.
They don't pay enough keep the drivers
Driving a beer delivery truck pays more & it is no where near as hazardous.

this is not a full size car hauler, but still dangerous

I doubt it's the dealerships fault. If they had a choice of completing a sale qnd getting my money today or six months from now, I bet they would choose today :)

There is only one flaw to that thinking.

If you wait 3 or 4 months for a factory ordered Ram & then you cancel the order.
Someone else will be very happy to grab up your cancelled order & then you start seeing your cancelled order at Home Depot, the Auto Parts store, the Wheel & Tire store, etc.

I used the 3 month order to delivery time period, because i ordered my 2016 Ram 1500, because before Covid, that was the normal delivery time to San Diego back then.
Heavy Duty Rams took a month longer

Doesn't look like a fun job. Very time consuming, planning for stops, loading and unloading.

Off topic but...
What I don't get is how he opens the driver door while backing the truck up the ramp. When I try this with my Gen5 it throws itself into park with the Ebrake on. Is there a workaround? would be very handy for rolling up ramps and baking trailers in tight corners.
