Anyone else have this problem?

Sorry to hear that. I call ******** about the "nature of the beast". A buddy of mine has a 3500 6.7 manual. I have a hard time keeping up when we're towing. I'm about 8k and he's just shy of 18k. He has never had issues like that.

And just a stupid question, would a tuner/programer take care of the torque management?

I am unsure if it would or not. I know that a few of the new Dodge systems do not accommodate the tuners and even sometimes lock the ECU and keep you from running your truck.
