I'm looking to add some more height(not excessive) to my Ram 1500 Eco. Currently I have Bilstein 5100's set to 2.8" and 1" spacer in the rear.

I've been looking at the Bilstein pics thread and the Post your Lift thread and I think I want to do a 3 or 4" lift since I only have 275/65R20 tires. I think I'm looking at this 3" kit... https://www.roughcountry.com/dodge-...Guix59V4EqjL7107N7Mo3_IBLghnx7I8aAiwzEALw_wcB

Does anyone have any experience with this kit and more importantly, will it work with the extra 2.8" from the Bilsteins? Anyone have any pics by chance?

Depends on what you are looking to accomplish. Up front you could had a leveling kit then a little bit bigger spacer in the rear. You could go with a spindle lift in the front (4") and pair that with a rear lift spring.

Well specifically with that 3" kit posted in the link above, would that work? I'm guessing not since it includes rear spacers and I already have rear spacers. I'm looking to accomplish an additional 3-4" of lift all around. I don't have 35s or greater so I don't want to go to 6" of lift.

@SoCal would be a great person to ask about this. As he has a 6” zone lift. I think it’s a Zone lift if I remember right.
I would recommend a core 4x4 or a Zone lift both are top shelf quality. JMHO

And remove the Bilsteins? I specifically mentioned not wanting a 6" lift because i don't have 35" tires but what are you thinking? I'm open to your opinions and thoughts

I'm going to say no. If getting 5.8" of lift up front was that easy Bils would've just made a longer strut option to begin with.

Now if you're going to lower your Bils to stock height I don't think that would be a problem. But why spend $550 for 0.2" of extra lift?

So then my best option to get a lift <6" while maintaining the Bilstein shocks is probably a 3" body lift or 4" suspension lift?

Follow up question to either option: Will the Bilsteins still be adding ride height in tandem to the lift kit?

Your best option would be the zone 6 front 3 rear, Zone uses a 5" spacer that will go on the front of you Bilsteins and replace the rear spacer with their 3" lift coil. Zone uses a preload spacer to accomplish the 6" front that you will not be using with your Bilsteins but you may want to drop them down to a lower setting. Going with the zone your options stay open if you ever want to run a bigger tire you could always turn your bilsteins back up.
With Zone and BDS the 4 and 6 inch kits are the same the only difference is the spacer used in the front. You'll be glad you did

I appreciate your input but am still confused, I may just not have enough "suspension component" knowledge. But how does getting a 6" kit give me less than 6?
I don't mean for my tone to be rude, i just don't follow :)

A lot of the 6" lifts are 6" front, but they also level the truck much like your 2.8 bils and 1" rear spacer. If you're looking for a 3-4" lift over what you already have then you're looking for a 6" lift since that will get all you suspension lined up properly. If you're thinking 3-4" over stock you're almost there less a larger rear spacer and some ucas to line up the ball joints.

I get it no worries it can get very confusing.
The Zone and BDS 6" kit uses a 5" strut top spacer. To achieve the advertised 6 inches they have you install a preload spacer between the coil and strut top hat. Since you are running Bilsteins you will not use the pre load spacer and set your bilsteins to stock ride height to give you a 5" lift. If you set your bilsteins to 2.1 you would have a 7" lift (Leaves you with options) Zone and BDS also use replacement coils for the rear so no spacer. If you decide down the line you want to set your bilsteins to 2.1 or higher you can add a spacer to the rear (again leaving you with options)

Are all 6" kits like this or just ones that have this preload spacer? (Pic included to confirm my comprehension)

Wouldn't the 4" Zone suspension kit + bils at ~2.1 provide the same overall 6" height I'd get from the 6" + bils at 0?(albeit less flexibility in adding height)Screenshot_20181008-145827_Google PDF Viewer.jpeg

Not all lifts use the pre-load spacer. With the Zone 4" lift they provide 2" rear coil spacers. if you upgrade to the 3" coil springs its a $77 upgrade which makes it the same price as the 6". A lot of guys are running zone or bds (Both owned by fox so very similar) because they are very flexible and don't leave you stuck.

What are your fender measurements now? Measured from the ground to the top of the wheel arch
Then tell me where you want it to sit and I will explain the math to you if that helps

Got it. My truck is in the shop because the CJDR dealer forgot to put my lug nuts back on and my front end collapsed(pic also attached for humor). Once I get it back, i can provide measurements.

So the 4" kit wouldn't work because I already have the spacer... makes sense.

It was absolutely preventable but humorous how idiotic of a mistake this particular dealer has make time and time again.

Is there another dealer that you could use? Because that could get someone killed. Also going to make a note to self to check that my lug nuts are right whenever I get my truck back from the shop.

Actual CDJR dealer, no. They've made mistakes before like leaving my oil cap off and then making amends by replacing everything damaged from oil under the engine compartment. I'm a local Firefighter and was talking to the local patrol officer and he said as soon as he saw my Dodge logo and where I was (about 1/4 mile away on the service road), he knew what had happened.

I go there knowing things MIGHT go wrong because they have financial and corporate accountability. I only went for an oil change because I had a coupon! Lol

being a firefighter I’m sure you have seen some bad accidents. How far did you make it before the wheel fell off?
Surprising the mechanic didn’t see the lugs sitting on his lift and catch it before you left.

Made it about 1/8 mile before it fell off and another 1/8 mile driving on the rotor before I turned onto a side street and my tire kept going straight...
