I know, I know. But I like the space underneath my seats and don't want to give them up. I don't have a box in the bed either. Just how I like it :/

I've done the rear seat DIY so that its much easier for me to gain access behind them. My question is, has anyone put a tube or other sub behind the seats? Any experience pro or con?

Sorry if this is covered already, my searches were coming up empty.

Looking at doing this. A decent set of two 12’s or 10’s with box amp and wiring on Amazon is under $300.

They also have an option to just run one sub if you want to save half your storage.

Do you think it will fit?

Would have to be one hell of a pancake sub to fit back there in proper enclosure. You’d be better off getting an under front seat woofer.

Can you point to some example installs of under front seat?

There are a lot of compact under seat powered subwoofer options, you're going to pay more for a quality brand that still may not perform as well as a traditional pancake or slim in a larger enclosure.

If you're adamant about keeping the rear under seat, you could always do a nice active or passive setup with higher power multi-channel amp using the factory door locations upgrade for more low end.

Don't waste your time with the small under the front seat subs. Full size 12" subs fit perfectly under the front seat and will give you a lot more power and deeper sounds

Ok I know we all have different taste in music. I like to hear everything, highs, mids, and lows.

I have e a single cab and didn’t want a sub taking all the room behind my seat, which there isn’t much of anyway.

I got a 6” JL Audio sub, along with Boston components in the front doors, and Morel components behind. Upgraded the 3 speakers in the dash as well.

Here’s the sub:

I have an Alpine MRD F754 “old school” amp.

Point is, the bass is tight and as much as I could want.

The sound is amazing, of course that’s my opinion. I realize that if you want to rattle your windows then the JL Audio sub isn’t for you, but you do get a lot of bass in a small space.

I wish I could put a sub setup on one side but I can’t stop the water from filling the rear storage compartments. Even after doing a 3rd brake light seal and clearing the rear window channel drain plugs.

If you're handy with tools, you could buy some MDF board and thin carpet, fabricate up your own boxes so the subs sit lower in the rear storage wells, giving you a better gap between the seat and subs.

Or, buy a pre-built box. I honestly would not expect much storage space under there, maybe in the center?

I have a single 10" under the drivers side rear seat in my QC. Its just a cheap, prefab box made specifically for that purpose, but it sounds good and fits nicel .
