Anyone try Modifystreet headlights?

Thank you for this.
If that's the way the G2s operate, I have to wonder what the DRL wire does on them because that's pretty much how the DRLs are expected to work other than top not dropping out.
I'm not sure either...I toyed with possibly putting the DRL harness in but I just have a completely unreasonable need to be able to turn out the lights and move the vehicle.

Has anyone tried using Silverstars in these or is everyone going straight to LED/HID upgrades. On my last truck I ran Silverstars in my quads since it was a 2015 and didn't want to mess around with all the adapters. Just wondering if they would be a good quick upgrade option if I get the Alpharex swapped in.

Okay so I understand how the g2s work without the drl. Basically the drl is only on for example when the low beam is on other than that they stay off. Both top and bottom are white and then bottom turns amber for signal. What about the v1, how do they operate without the drl harness?

Same concept but only the top strip will be white

On either versions since the drls are only on when the headlights are running. Will the turn signal still work as normal without the headlight on?

Yes. Like stated above whether or not you use the supplied drl harness it won't effect how the basic function of the headlights work. You'll only have the white strip(s) on when the parking lights are on. The drl harness is basically a keyed on 12v power supply for the drl feature. So as soon as the key is turned to acc (depending on what fuse you tap into) then the drl feature is activated. Then will "drop out" when the signals are activated. The gen 2 headlights are a switchback design so if you don't use the drl harness they'll function just like any switchback. The gen 1's are a standard orange turn/park light with the upper being only a white

Thank you. In the v1s the bottom only lights up when the turn signal is activated and stays off the rest of the time?

Just curious if you had/have a lux readout on the standard Hikari LED's ($37 for 9600 lumens) vs Hikari Ultra's ($80 for 11000 lumens)?

I recent installed the standard Hikari 9005 in my factory 2018 Projectors (hi & Low same ... with HID enabled and modified/stretched dust covers) which was an improvement over the halogens and about the same as Silverstar zXe's that I ran in the last truck.

Swapped over to the Hikari Ultra's today on the low beam and just curious if you knew. Waiting to see how they do tonight and possible readjust. Here's a bulb size comparison for anyone that might be interested (I'm still in the fence about the modifystreet lights).

The Ultras have a larger fan but shallower depth (still had to use a heat gun on my Mopar projector Dust covers).1d591277ceae235f88694549eebce6cf.jpgce3b7aabda38d500ab646ea0fe4dda5a.jpg9e456f2f6eec35748bc5c3d442301b88.jpg90a0260cabfab48c67159f5ca7e70b43.jpg660aa4bd48175df6db8315dd3925bab4.jpgd7b726a93ad059e5df7d00cf76f449e4.jpg

I don't unfortunately. I sold the ultras before I had a chance to test them and never bought the regular Hikaris.

My Mark 1 Eyeball told me this when testing. The Ultras appeared very slightly brighter in a reflector housing, but not enough to buy the Ultras over the regular ones.

However, the Ultras are noticeably better in projectors when clocked properly. I assume this is due to the narrowed shape of the bulb at the diodes.

In short, Ultras worked better in projectors but if it's a reflector the regulars are nearly the same.

Agreed.
The regular Hikari are definitely bright enough in the high beam spots on the factory projectors.

Is there a difference in mounting them in the 3/9 position vs 9/3 (ie cable exiting top vs bottom)?

Should be no difference. In my testing with the H1 katana minis I had to mount them with the wire at the top and it didn't seem to change anything

Am I reading this correctly that the ZXEs appear about the same brightness as the Hikari standard LEDs out of a projector?

For anyone having parking lights error messages with g2 versions and have alphaobd myself and @chrisbh17 may have found a solution.

Here is what you can try.

VehConfig 3 HID lamps > YES
CBC FEATURES-LED Front Turn Lamps > YES
CBC FEATURES-LED Front Park/Turn > No
CBC FEATURES-LED Low Beams > No
CBC FEATURES-LED High Beams > No
CBC Extern.Light Right/Left Low Beam > 12.2v
CBC Extern.Light Right/Left Front Corner > 12.2v

After I modified my alpharex g1 lights with profile pivot switchbacks I would get a parking light out message only when my lights were on. For a temporary fix I added resistors until a solution was found. @chrisbh17 was having similar issues on his modified g1s. He and I went back and forth on possible reasons. chrisbh17 started messing with turning off different options to match @Jimmy07 settings since he wasn't having any issues on his modified g1s. Only real difference between the 3 truck's is Jimmy07 previous added the factory projector headlight wiring harness.

It's been a week since I have made the changes and I have had zero issues so far.
My build katana led's in low's, profile pivot led projectors for highs, profile pivot switchbacks strips

Are you running Halogens or did you upgrade to LED/HID? I have had my G2s (just the halogen lights) for less than a week and keep having the Parking Light Out error (B16C3 and B16BF). I made the cardinal sin and did not record my factory settings before starting to change things with AlfaOBD, but I have got the error to only come on when the headlights are on and I use the directional. I have also somehow disabled my fog lights...anybody know what I screwed up there? Really hoping some members can shed some expertise because I love the look of the lights.
