Anyone running the alpharex g1s or g2s with hid? Would love to see the comparison.

Gotta be honest I love the look of these and the quality of everything besides the light output on this with leds.

My quads with leds smoked these. Now that may be because it was like driving around with high beams on but I miss them lol. I added photos of these at night on the road.

They wouldn't be enough if I didn't have fog lights... my fog lights make a huge improvement which make these okay to use.

Pic is with fogs off850b641d823d162698bd6dd7831cb61c.jpg

Hikara ultras on the alpharex lows. Hows the output look to you? Before I clocked them it was alot worse.

I had opt 7 in my stock quads

Pictures are always hard to judge from. But from your pic they don't look bad. I've run Hikari ultras, katana led's and Aukee led's. I and a few others felt that the katanas were brighter than the Hikaris. The Aukee led's were slightly brighter I thought. I've run both 35w and 55w Innovited hid's in the stock g1 projectors. I didn't think there was a huge visual difference between the 35w and 55w and not a huge difference between the 35w and either 3 of the led's. You get a little more distance with hid's.

Currently I'm running a complete custom set of g1's I built. I installed morimoto mini h1 7.0 projectors and currently morimoto 50w h1 hid's and morimoto HB led highbeam projectors. There honestly isn't a huge output difference between the morimoto projectors and the alpharex projectors. A little steeper step down and slightly crisper cut-off. The morimoto hid's are barely brighter than the Innovited hid's. I was hoping for better output from the morimoto projectors but I really was more interested in have the bi-functional feature for more high beam output.

Thanks for your response. Did you ever run stock quads with leds? Honestly I think what gets me is quads with leds are blinding bright and I may have been spoiled... never needed high beams.

I will have to say clocking these fully to the right made a big difference. Im meeting up with my buddy this week who has stock projectors with the hakiras so ill be able to compare. Ill keep you posted

I have. I have supernova v3's in my low's and modified set of opt7 Flux core led's in the highs. I originally bought them for low's but could never get a good beam pattern. The v3's was able to get a decent cut-off. But after running led's and Hid's in the stock alpharex projectors then running the quads with led's, the alpharex put the quads to shame. Only thing I like more is the short distance brightness that the opt 7s give as highs

It took some time getting used to a more focused light output vs a more scattered "loose" output of the quads. It still was an adjustment going from the stock alpharex projectors to the morimoto cut-off.

Did you clock yours different then stock? I noticed a huge improvement doing that. It's definitely a more focused output i agree. I still my fogs for the immediate area infront of the ram

I know what you're feeling. I came from the same bulb and setup as you. You're used to the lights being much more scattered.

I'm running innovited 35w HIDs now. When properly aimed to throw light down the road you'll be happier.

Yeah I tried all different variations and never felt like I was getting a great output from the v3's in my quads.

You and 1500ram12 both have mentioned the focused pattern. I must be used to the scattered light. The hid kit your running did it all fit in the projectors? Assuming you have alpharex now?

Love to see your output

Wow you didn't have to drill holes in the caps. Might do your set up.

Do you have the link for the hids? I'd also if you get a chance grab a pic of the throw down the road. Did you find the throw was better then the ultras in the lows?

I have mine aimed maybe a foot higher then yours too did that tonight
