hey guys, with the news that the 2022 rams will have it, can we get a software update from a dealer? I have a 2020 with the 12 inch uconnect.

uConnect 5 is a different animal that requires different hardware to support the software.

I wonder if you can order the 2022 uConnect 5, wondering if it would be plug 'n play or plug 'n prey... :)

Carlinkit makes a good wireless Carplay adapter for current wire Carplay systems. They are about $125 on Amazon. I have had one working well on my 2018 UAQ radio for a couple of years.

Other threads about that very subject. So far it is a work in progress and, from what I've read, is definitely not plug-and-play.

I bought a CarPlay2Air dongle to add wireless CarPlay to my '21 Classic with 8.4 display. Every so often it won't properly hook up when I start the truck, which means cycling its power by unplugging it from the center console USB port for a moment. I'd say it's a 95% reliable solution for around $100.

(edit - @chri5k beat me to it by seconds!)

For folks using the Carlinkit wireless carplay device (I just got the v4.0 model), I have a question. In general, this works well, but every so often, it will disconnect due to outside radio interference (I've confirmed this happenes in the same exact location repeatedly). When it disconnects, how do you reconnect it? When this happens, I lose the CarPlay icon on my radio, and I can't get the CarLinkit connection splash screen to reappear.

Here's what I've tried:
-Unplugging it doesn't seem to work
-I've noticed that when it disconnects, the native UConnect bluetooth connection connects, and if I try to disconnect it, it immediately reconnects
-I've updated the latest firmware
