Short answer is no, all windshields are not the same. Different models and years have different shapes as in a 1500 forth gen is different from a 1500 fifth gen even if they are a 2019 as an example. Some aftermarket windshields have different shading and some windshields are low quality and distort the driver’s view.

Personally, i buy OEM Windshields
I do not buy them through a Dodge Dealership, i go to a local auto glass shop

Places like Safelite, usually have 2 or 3 windshields
OEM, Original Equipment Manufacturer
OEE, Original Equipment Equivalent
the 3rd windshield is usually made in China, they don't seem like the glass is hard enough, they pit real easy.

Mopar windshields for Ram trucks are made with Corning Gorilla Glass.
Gorilla Glass is more resistant to chipping, cracking, and impacts from road debris than traditional laminated glass.

This site claims that OEE meets the same Standards, but for the budget minded people

These days there are also things like sensors for rain-sensing wipers, also some have tint strips across the top that can bother tall drivers.

Nope not the same.... regardless of whether you go aftermarket or OEM there are different option levels. Sensors, etc...

I parrot the above posters to at LEAST go OEE if not OEM. Give the glass company your VIN and they can tell you which windshield you need.

I didn't see it mentioned but there is also acoustic oem windshields that the el cheapo windshields do not have the sound blocking acoustic properties.
This was the case for our Armada. Aftermarket windshield was $350. OEM was $1,200..... thank goodness for insurance.

Hmmm gorilla glass, huh? That's interesting info. Thanks. I just bought a few windshields (aftermarket) this summer. In my case there aren't any OEM windshields available for the projects I was doing. However, it might be an item to put into stock and stow away if you knew you were going to be a 4th-gen-for-life guy.

The ones I bought recently which were made in China however, appear exactly like the windhields I removed. Down to a "T". I didn't measure the thickness but they look the same. Same exact molding around the edges. Pretty good looking glass actually. They're a Pilkington windshield...made in China.

The windshield on my '23 Challenger cracked. No sign of impact. What I've been seeing on the 'net is that there is an issue with the windshields on the '23's cracking in the lower passenger side, just like mine did.

Unfortunately, Dodge isn't going to stand behind their product.

So, I went to Safelight and got a new windshield from them.

Heck with Dodge.

Not at all!

There is OEM, which is usually branded with the OEM's logo (i.e. Ram head in the lower left corner of our trucks front glass)

There is OEM Replacement which is PPG or Pilkington.
The OEM's usually use one or the other of these in their builds and have them labeled with their company logo's.

Then there is chinesium, and yes this is super cheap glass, and great for your beater.
However, this grade of glass meets the absolute minimum standards for vehicles safety compliance requirements regarding the glass itself.

It's also usually wavy, creates more heard wind noise, and the protection film is of a much lesser quality, so much more prone to chipping and cracking, especially at highway speeds.

Buyers take note and make sure you're getting what you should be, especially when it's an insurance replacement.

The majority of glass shops will supply you with chinesium and charge your insurance company OEM or OEM replacement costs ;)

Hard to say what was going on there. A small nick in the side of the glass can lie dormant, then after many heat/cool cycles, develop a crack. Such a nick could come from a number of sources, during manufacturing, shipping, original install, dealer working on the car, hidden rock chip, etc. Or possibly a bubble or impurity in the glass somewhere.

If a guy's vehicle was under warranty, it might be worth trying a couple glass outfits. Perhaps an experienced guy with a keen eye might find a build-flaw that was warrantable (???).

There appears to be a problem with '23 Challenger windshields according to what I'm reading. They crack in the lower passenger side of the windshield.

Heck, there's even a YT video of a new unsold '23 Challenger sitting in the dealer's lot with a cracked windshield in the same way.

Dealer flatly refused to cover it. Glass is not a warranty item. DodgeCares gave me the same answer.

So, all I can do is direct my $$$ away from Dodge as much as I can now.

I love the car but Dodge? Not so much. :)

Good luck if you think any brand is better. We've cycled through a few dozen vehicles from all manufacturers. Have stories on most of them.

Try having a panoramic roof explode on a brand new Toyota with less than 10k miles. Dealer was able to get the roof replaced once, but when it started making popping noises again Toyota told me to kick rocks despite there being documentation that the frame was flexing too much due to removing all the structural support for the roof. The suggestion of the Toyota dealership service manager? Dump the car for another brand without it before it did it again.

Is your 23 Challenger a Hellcat,as i've seen lots of biching about the windshields on the 23 Hellcats with cracking at the dragstrip. They launch hard on drag radials or slicks and the body twists enough to crack the windshield

I don't know what changed in 23,but i've seen lots of yelling about the windshields in them, mostly from the hellcat guys, but have seen a few scatpack guys also yelling about cracked windshields.
I should of probably ran a strut tower brace on the wifes 2019 1320,as it used to twist up a bit on launch, but it never cracked the windshield.
