So ive got the old pulley off the truck got the ATI assembled and in position. Ive tried tightening it down with impact but i guess my 18v Milwaukee is not strong enough. Its the lower rated 425lb torque not the brushless 1000lbs. Has anyone had this problem? I bought the install kit from oriellys but it wont be in until tomorrow but if i could id like to not use and return as that would be another $100 added to the $400 the ATI cost me. Id appreciate any help you all can offer. I really hope its just my impact is not strong enough and not something i messed up.

They can be a ***** to install. If you can still pull it off, throw it in the oven at 170 for a 1/2 hour, and try to wrap an ice bag around the crank to help shrink it as much as possible. It still won't be easy, but it might help the install slightly.Wait for the install kit,it'll pull it on better then the crank bolt, you run the risk of stripping the crank threads using the bolt

They should’ve pinned it from the factory. Pinched pennies

They run a hell'va interference fit to keep them from spinning on the crank,so heating the balancer and cooling the crank as much as possible helps with miinmizing the size differences between the two.It still won't go on great, but it'll help, lol.Make sure there's no burrs on the inside of the pulley or on the crank snout,if you can catch a finger nail on anything, take some fine wet/dry paper at least 400grit or higher, perferably even 600grit and spend the time to remove them and make sure they are absolutely smooth, anything rough is going to make your life hell,as the last thing you want is the balancer only on halfway and stuck,it's not uncommon with an ATI install, then you're really furbar'd,lol. You can either lock the flywheel or run some light duty nylon rope in through a plug hole to jam a piston so the crank won't turn on you.Pull 2 plugs on one cylinder with the piston at the bottom, then feed a bunch of rope in that cylinder,if the crank starts turning on you,the rope will jam the piston and keep it from turning, just remember to leave enough rope hanging out of the plug hole you can retrieve the rope after the balancer is on.You might get lucky and the crank won't turn, but it's a real ***** if it does and the rope or flywheel lock will be a saving grace.

Thanks yall for the help. Ive pretty much watched every YouTube video out there and it seems none of them cover my situation. Hopefully the install kit will be my answer. If not the ol rope trick will have to do.

So my impact started to finally doing its job(after i spent the money on the install kit of course) but my next stupid question is how do i know when the pulley is fully seated? When it lines up with the other spindles?

His name is Dylan Derby,he's a good guy,but you gotta love his torqueing style, lol. It'll be seated when the damper is flush with the end of the crank, and it can't physically go on any farther. The install kit is the best way to install them, using the old crank bolt to pull it on,can screw up the threads in the crank shaft. You did install a new crank bolt didn't you???.It should be replaced when you replace the balancer

Yes i tightened down with the old bolt then replaced with new one. Seated? Im not quite sure what that exactly is. Ill take a picture if you dont mind looking at it? Right now its even with the other spindles and the belt is on. Engine turns over and cranks but there is a whistling sound coming from the new damper.

By seated I mean the inside shoulder of the dampener where the bolt/washer sit will be flush with the end of the crankshaft. You're good to go if everything is lined up and the bolt is torqued to spec.Start it up and drive it around for a bit,and see if it's still making a whistling sound
