I guess I meant the aleternates to Contura switches.

I just went to OTRATTW and I guess the whole setup isn't near as bad. I thought I found a $450 switch pod which is WAY overpriced.

Any source for blank spot covers? I can see using 4 of the 6 spots right off the bat.

Also. Otrattw has a sale, so I got 15% off. I bought the 4 switches I know I'll use in the near future, but no idea how to fill the 2 not used.

They sell blanks

For those who have put switches in the trim piece below the steering wheel, how does it come out and is there enough room for a couple of toggles? I have the Nilight 'box' switches that need about an inch and a half of room behind the trim piece.

If you are referring to here,

If you are careful with spacing, there is room for 3 of the larger toggles(like the one closest to the dash).
If I remember correctly, there are two torx head screws that go in from the bottom, and then the piece just pops off.

Excellent idea DeckArtist! Inspired me to mount my 1a auto tow mirror power fold switch there. Nowhere else worked or made sense.b55104f226a482f5941de4f36e3a024a.jpg

Cool, yeah I pulled the large panel underneath the steering column first but there were too many wires going to vitals such as the code reader terminal that I did not know how to remove so I put that back. Then I pulled the panel surrounding the gauges thinking there was enough room in there and there was on one side but not on the other. Thought briefly about pulling the steering column cover itself but really did not want them there.

I had already pulled that little panel once and was keeping it for a last resort and actually I’m kind of glad I put them there. Worked out swimmingly for hiding the wires behind the carpet.

Gotta thank Ernie because if I hadn’t seen his post I would’ve never looked at that little panel.

Until I get my switch pod to hook up all my other goodies, this will do for the lightbar. Switch snapped in there like it was made for it!

Sorry I'm only 1.5 yrs late...

Can you give a quick overview of how you did this? Does the factory plug disassemble easily?

I have a similar looking switch operating Brandon's BW44-44 clutch lockup switch on my laramie with bench seating, would like to mount as close to 4x4 factory switches as possible. This is a very clean and simple solution

It has been awhile, but if I recall correctly, I unplugged a connection at the rear of the socket assembly, removed it completely, fed wires through it, connected them to the switch and then snapped the switch in. I removed the bezel and possibly the lower tray to get access to pop the assembly out.

It was a rediculously tight squeeze between stuffing the switch and wiring in the socket assembly, I almost had to consider cutting the end off the socket assembly to allow room for it all so it would fit. That probably would have been easier

That's what i assumed.

Ended up stuffing the switch through the steering console gap for now. Turned out my switch is too oval-shaped to work.

I know I have seen the same switch I have at pep boys over in their aftermarket section. It is a small kit that includes the wiring. I am sure they also just have switch over in the aisle with all the other switches. Probably just a few bucks, it's a cheap switch
