Afternoon folks. Anyone have a general explanation as to why on a 2016 9.25 rear end, the right axle shaft is generally $2-250 higher? They both have reluctor rings, both have to have the c-clip notch and the right one is actually a bit shorter.
I had a wheel bearing fail and ate into the axle so like an idiot went on a website that everyone is familiar with their jingle… got a kit for around 160. USA standard gear which is Yukon seconds, seemed very cheap but volume equals savings.
Less than 4,000 miles later a second bearing fails, also eating the axle. This time the cage was broken and the rollers fell out when I pulled the axle. Perfect!
The amount of debris in my housing is impressive actually, so I’m not even going to pursue warranty.
Looking all around and all I can find are genuine mopar or Yukon or G2 but the head scratcher is the difference.
Sorry for the length but if you’re still here I want to thank you in advance for any insight or a direction to a secret source. Not even any junk yards near me have an axle so new it will have to be.
