Backup camera brightness

Is there a way to control the brightness level of the back up camera? Mine seems to auto dim In relation to ambient light levels. In the early mornings and evenings this is a problem. When backing up into a parking space it is hard to see the lines.

I have a 2018 radio in my 2017. I even updated the camera to the 2018 part, but still have problems with this. It did not seem to be a problem when I had the older 2017 radio in. I have a cargo camera too, it does not have this problem. The cargo camera is not connected to the Lin bus, and I wonder if the Lin bus is responsible for auto dimming the back up camera?

Not that I'm aware of. I asked the same question. Since I keep my dash/radio lights dim for night driving, During certain conditions if my lights are on during the day it's hard to see the backup camera on the radio. My wife's 2018 Silverado, no matter what when in reverse the camera will go to full brightness.

So is it because the headlights are on?
In the early morning and late afternoon it is almost impossible to see anything, Especially if the sun is in the rear. It will dim down so low you cant see nuttin

I have turned it on several times at stoplights, and noticed it gets brighter if a white vehicle pulls into the camera view, which seems opposite of what it should do

I may buy one of those cheap aftermarket cameras from China and see what happens with it

Rotate the dash light dimmer switch to “parade mode” (Ram’s name for it, not mine) that will make the screen go to full bright even with the headlights on.

I think I know what you’re talking about. If you have the same glitch I do, just rotate the knob slightly while the backup camera is active. That will brighten it to full strength.

Here's the issue, on occasion the automatic lights are on and it's still bright enough out this is what I see. Granted it's really bright out today so this is a extreme example. I don't want to have to adjust the dimmer every day. Since I work 4 to midnight it's light out when I arrive and dark when I leave
