Mine is getting a little loud. Kind of sounds like the bearings are shot. Anyone else experienced this on their 4th gen?
Mine is a 2016 2500 with about 25,000mi.

Last time it happened to me it was from mice building a condo in my duct (in my Tacoma). Blower sucked in some material and eventually burned out. Right time of year for it :(

Sometimes it's just something got in there and it clears out after a bit. If it is the fan it's an easy swap. Just go under the dash on the pasenger side and look up. On the newer ones they're closes in with carpet, but on the early 4th Gen they're in the open. I posted some pics on the thread blower fan on what it looks like in and out of the truck.

I have some warranty left so I will run it by the dealer. I was hoping they didn't have to tear the whole dash out to get to it. Glad to hear this is not so. I could just see them not getting it back together correctly & having all kinds of rattles.
