This started with the dreaded Yellow Pole in front of Ralph's Supermarket in Dec 2020. I backed into the polo and it completely bent up the rear bumper. I used a tow strap and a BFH to beat the bumper back to stage that I wasn't 100% ashamed of. I acquired a new (used) bumper from a buddy who owns a junk yard. It was beat up, but it also came with new top plastic and brackets. Since mine was cracked by the pole. It needed a complete to bare metal sanding.....some beating with a hammer etc. But it was free.
I cut in a flush mount Baja Designs S2 as well before moving onto paint. My brother in law owns a Cafe Racer Motorcycle shop so he painted the bumper and the S2 lighting surround. My only cost was paint. Which was $140 for the white and some clear. Which then left him some extra for a build or 2 down the line.
As this all was in the works, I stumbled into Shifts and Grins Fabrications. Who created a bracket that allows the use of TRX Factory Rear Tow Hooks. These are really stout brackets, I am really impressed with the quality of these. They will also add some protection to the rear of the truck. Protecting my 5" Carvin Tips. I did opt for the powdercoating as well. Now these are not cheap. But the truck's been paid off for years, and not liking the rear aftermarket bumpers available I figured the cost was worth it.
Overall I all I am really happy with the way this turned out. Clean and simple with enough changes a true Ram fan will notice and not stand out.
