I installed a Banks cold air intake, Monster ram elbow, booster tubes on a 2013 Cummins 6.7L. Nothing deleted all stock engine. When I drove out of the shop I had pure exhaust coming out of the A/C vents. I mean exhaust in the cab like I’ve never see. I had to put all 4 windows down to make it home. It developed 5 exhaust leaks. I used smoke to detect 3 of them. EGR control valve leaked, 2 leaks in the exhaust pipe, the flex tube above the EGR cooler and the exhaust manifold at number 1 and number 6. If you don’t have a deleted truck don’t spend money on Banks equipment. It really takes in a lot more air than what your truck is designed for. The obstructions in a stock exhaust system really create a considerable amount of back pressure. The excess air will find a weakness in your exhaust. I had 5 weak spots. It cost a lot of money to replace everything that leakEd. Banks makes great equipment And it substantially increases air intake to the engine. When you bring that much air in it has to go somewhere. A stock truck will handle the cold air intake but if you go any further let the buyer beware.
Thought I might save someone a lot of time, money and frustration.

Good post. Though I would suspect those items were weak or leaking before adding the performance accessories. The increased stress from performance mods showed their issues or made them more noticeable. Lastly, any other brand of mods that perform as well as Banks would have most likely yielded the same result so I would not necessarily blame Banks.

Moral of the story is, if increasing performance on an older truck, ensure all the non-upgraded components are up to the task of handling more power, air flow, exhaust, etc.
