Getting ready to install a custom headache rack and tool box fuel tank combo.
I saw somewhere that I might need front bed re-enforcement brackets but haven’t seen it again.

Do any of you know if this is an important add?

Thank you

I had a fuel tank/ tool box combo in my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT
On the bottom of the combo box at the outer edges have mounting brackets.

I went to a metal supply outfit & bought a 6' section of
2x4 HOT ROLLED STEEL RECTANGULAR TUBE
( the tubing allowed me to wash under & around the tank )

I cut 2 sections to size & drilled holes for bolts in both the steel & through the bed.

From what I have read the reinforcement Brackets are more for the trucks with split tailgates.

Never had a issue with my 2014. Had a headache rack with tool box and always over loaded it. What year did they start to recommend it? Also what's the part number? I might need to add them to my 2022.
