Looking to pick up a diablo tuner and pcm for my 17 sport. Wondering what would be the best upgrades. Thinking about long tubes but what else? Is a cai really worth it?

I made my own cai. It was worth the $30. I wouldn’t put down more than that having done it and knowing the results

Long tube headers are a good gainer for HP. the y-pipe is very restrictive on these trucks. I would do the Long tubes, mid-pipe, and a catback and since you are letting the air out it would be good to get more air int more efficiently with a CAI.

What did you make it out of? The biggest problem with intakes is heat soak, if you are using a metal intake tube after 15 minutes of driving you are doing nothing but sucking hot air.

Search for "Thad air". Thad tested it out w/ the stock intake. After he used the 5.7 stock intake he swapped it for a 6.4 stock truck intake & liked it a little more

Myself I am using the old style S&B w/ the coolant overflow tank moved over to the driver's side more & the scoop cut a little shorter for air to have a straight path to the intake through the grille

This is true but temperatures equalize once you're moving.....to a certain degree. At idle and cruising around town the "short rams" heat soak like a mother. But once you get above above approx 30mph the temps equalize and on the highway they can have lower IATs than the OEM airbox.

At least that was the case with one I made. I logged data with my Diablosport and then via the Torque app on my phone. FWIW I removed the intake and went back to the OEM airbox.

Here's the intake I built. It's basically a copy of the Legmaker setup minus the carbon fiber. I made it for fun this winter lol.

Add a tube to oem box. Home depot/lowes for parts, all told around 30$. On upper rpm hard throttle it feels like its getting a extra/ longer breath of air. Thought i had pic of fitting in airbox but guess not
