Hi all - looking for LED recommendations to replace OEM bulbs in my 2018 RAM 1500's 'Halogen Quad Headlamps'.

Couple years into retirement and with Daylight Savings Time gone, it gets dark early and my night vision went well before most of my hair. We retired to a lovely little old mining town in southern Colorado; they modernized most of the street lights with LEDs - barely need headlights in town - but once you're out of town, dark AF and of course, many new friends live on acreages outside of town.

Prefer a solution that's plug n' play - I pull the OEM bulbs and replace them with LEDs. Idiot proof is good!

TIA,
Mike Mc in SOCO (Southern Colorado)

I recently replaced my quad headlights with some aftermarket "spyder" projector style headlights and after trying multiple different led bulbs and being mainly unimpressed, I decided to go back to the HID style bulbs I had in my last ram for over 10 years with good results. when it comes to leds in the quads you will have to pay special attention to ensure the led cob chips are placed at the same spot as the element would be on the halogen bulb. otherwise you end up with a very scattered and blinding light. I realise different folks have different likes but just for reference, these are the lights I bought, https://www.ebay.com/itm/384275877205 they were plug in play, other than the halo rings which are cosmetic and not needed. I wired those into the acc power in the fuse panel. I went with these bulbs, https://www.ebay.com/itm/352056491513?var=621541682826 I recommend with whatever bulbs you go with, if they have a color temp option, to stick with 4300k or 5000k as anything higher will have the blue shift which is less useful to the human eye when trying to see at night.

I also upgraded my brake light and tail lights to led which really updated the look of my 2015 truck. there are projector style housing out there that are not as "racey" as well Keep in mind virtually all newer vehicles are transitioning to projectors because they have a nice light beam cutoff designed into them allowing better light output without blinding oncoming traffic.

I went with led bulbs from Fahren. Color temp is 6000k. They are a white light and not blue. 100% true plug and play although you’ll have to clock them to a 9&3 position to get the best output but any good bulb will have to be adjusted.
I have them in my lows, highs and fog lights. Highbeams are actually bright enough now that I rarely use my 42” lightbar anymore.

Running these bulbs in both the high and low beam and am not disappointed. Many are running them plug and play with zero issues.
Here's a pic in comparison to the fahrens.
Auxito on the left, fahren on the right.
