I have a 2013 ram sport 4x4 1500 with a 2" leveling kit and I want to replace the stock goodyear tires but I'd like to still keep and use my sport wheels. Whats the biggest size tire I can put on them without rubbing and without needing to buy spacers?

Wanting an aggressive look but with comfort and proper traction as I would be using them year round so a little off roading, dry pavement, in rain and slow/ice. So I think M/T are out of the question and was thinking of A/T such as Toyo open country AT, Nitto ridge grappers, Duratecs...

any input/experience would be helpful

truck is equipped with 3.21s and 8 speed transmission

Depends on look people claim 35x12.5 with no additional work. I don't like the stuffed look personally so I'm thinking a 275 65r20 or A 285 65r20. Price is gonna be my deciding factor. A lot of guys either love their toyo's. I've heard some cons when involving snow with them though. I hear good things about general grabber at2 and cooper discover at3. All have mileage warranty which is something I consider a must.

LT 275/65/20

I would have gone with that size had I not done the full on lift. More tire options, better price, and not as bad a hit on MPG's...........if any of that matters.

As far as biggest size possible with 2", 285/65/20 will fit (that's what I had with my Bils @ 2.1 on stock rims) though a 295/65/20 will stuff in there.

Do you have pictures of your 285/65/20 on your ram with stock rims?

I have 275/65r20 and I think they fit perfectly. The only thing I don't like is how thin they still are. I'm going to upgrade wheels so will probably put 33/12.50r20 when that time comes

I have had 275/65R20 and 285/65R20 on mine and both fit the only running with the 285 was ok the only rub was on the raised part inside the fender on drivers side and I didn't level just stock. Both look great and handle nice. I personally don't care about a mileage warranty as those are a joke with prorations and the fact the BFG AT KO has always far exceeded any of the mileage warranties on the cheaper passenger tires anyway. I have the KO2 this time so we will see how long they last.

I was told that if I put 1/4" spacers I can fit 35s by 12.5s on the sport wheels without lifting it any more (currently has 2" level), is that true? if so do I need hub centric spacers? or is it fine with generic ones considering the small width, don't want my lug nuts to break off..

1/4" should work. If you buy "small" 35's you might just get away without any spacers. Check the specs provided by the tire manufacturer. You'll more than likely need the spacer.

What do you consider small 35s? I was thinking of getting either of these: KO2, Duratracs, open country A/T, or nitto at grapplers

You'd have to check really. I know for example a 35 x 12.50 Toyo MT is wider than 12.5 and the sidewall lugs are part of the reason.

Really, just get the tires you want and grab some 1/4" spacers. Use if you need them, all the better if you don't.

Going with 1/4" spacers, don't worry about getting hub centric, It's a small spacer. If you decide to go bigger, that's another story and many here will tell you look at BORA spacers.

FWIW, it seems tires measuring 12.1" wide on a stock 20x9 will fit without a spacer but it will be close. Most 295/65/20's measure about that wide on a stock rim and fit without a spacer. The flotation sizes (35 x 12.50 x XX) usually run a little wider but not always. Like I said, find the tire you want then look up the manufacturers specs. If it looks to measure more than 12.1" wide on your rim, get spacers.

Hope that helped.

I run 35x12.50 cooper st max with no spacers. But they are a small 35. I think nitto trail grapplers are closer to 13.5" wide in the same size

On my 2010 2WD with a 2" level, I ran Nitto Terra Graps sized 295/70-17.... on a 17x8 wheel. No spacers, and only had a little rub on the wheel liner at full lock.

I have a 2 inch lift and 1/4 inch spacers and just got Mickey Thompson MTZ's 35 12.50 20s on my stock rim. Only rubbed the wheel well liner on the passenger's side when turning left. I just drilled a hole and zip tied it in a little, now they don't rub at all.

Thanks for all the detailed responses, do you have pictures of your tires on your truck from the front/rear view. Just wondering how the width looks.

And do you think the 285/65/20 BFG KO 2's will fit my truck without rubbing at full lock without spacers?

The 285's will fit and not rub. I took my truck Off-road and flexed the truck when I just had the Bils and she didn't rub anywhere!

Don't have any really good front to back shots
