Got them today. Truck has 98100 miles. Went with load rating C as they're more than plenty for what i do my truck. As you may know i was extremly dissapointed with the wear i was getting out of Milestar Patagonias. Not wanting to put more miles on those so i could get some decent money back out of them i decided i needed new tires and Pats are going to Craiglist.

In any case here they're, 15/32 brand new. This set marks the 6th time ever of me running these tires. C rated in this case are new to me so i can finally say i've tested all KO2's load rating C D and E :), 50k miles warranty, S speed rating. $1575 out of the door for 4 with Americas Tires certs, lifetime rotation and 50k miles warranty. I love the KO2's and it seems i can't get enough of them given the way i keep coming back to the, lol.

Now back to 5-6k miles rotations instead of 3k, lol it gets old...., so will update for wear, performance etc accordingly. So far, insanely quiet compared to my old Milestar Patagonias (they had 13/32 so almost new), no more of that feeling you get with MT tires when about to stop and you can literally feel the knows touching the tarmac. Feels good to be back with AT tires.

Running them at 36 PSI cold all 4 corners.

I liked my KO2’s, but they didn’t last long. I only got 30K miles out of them. They heavier trucks would go to them quicker. Since I then they have reformulated the compound to take care of them. I may get another set when my Nittos wear out.

You may be referring to the DT compound. That's more for HD trucks and the problem with that compound is that you don't get the same wintry performance out of them. I'll stick with the normal compound and enjoy the benefits from it in my 1500.

My D rated KO2s 37's were wearing out nice and smooth and at very steady rate 1/32 every 5k miles. I have another thread here showing the progression. My heavier Jeep Wrangler was 6000lbs and the E rated 315/70/17 E rated in that one had enough tread left at 40k miles i could have gone an extra 30k miles easy. It always happens that i try something new so i sold them in Craglist and got some Nitto MT's to replace them :) The RAM is heavier than that Jeep so time will tell how these C ones will behave in the wear department. I'll update this thread and show the good the bad and the ugly if any.

In the meantime the tires fit my bill: 3PMSF symbol, 3 ply sidewalls, AT thread, 50k miles warranty and because i've run the tires 6 times now i know exactly what to expect in any of the driving conditions where my truck goes in and out, dry, rain, snow, dirt, sand, rocks. I hate mud so i try to avoid mud as much as i can.

Leaving the sidewall info as years ago i thought the C rated KO2's were 2 ply and i didn't go with those for that reason. I can confirm today 03/14/21 that BFG KO2 315/70/17 C rated have 3 ply sidewalls. Pic included below.

I also have a 1500, but I carry about 850-900 pounds of tools and equipment in the back of my truck at all times. I used to also frequently tow a hydraulic dump trailer behind my truck too. So I wear out tires at about the same rate as the HD trucks too. When I replaced my KO2’s the tires with the new compound weren’t available in the size I needed. Seeing it was at the end of November with snow on the way plus I was wearing down the wear bars I needed to replace them. So I went with some Nittos. They perform about the same as the KO2’s until the snow started to fly. Then the didn’t do as well as the KO2’s. They have been wearing better then the KO2’s, so when I replace the Nittos I’ll most likely go back to the KO2’s. They are great in snow.

We got that snow overnight. Just a late spring snow shower. That was a week after I put the KO2’s on the truck. I didn’t even need 4wd with those tires on it; even with that heavy trailer behind the truck.

It's a Barricade Extreme. The website says 3mm steel. It's more HD than the stocker but I've had heavier duty rear bumpers before and this is not exactly what I expected in HD terms. My mistake for not asking steel thickness before buying it. I needed to replace my stock bumper after I hit a small pole. The stocker is seriously a joke.

The stock bumpers dent and bend if you look at them wrong. I’ve never had a vehicle with such flimsy bumpers before.

Got another set of KO2's for my Jeep in this same size. Funny I tried to get the same C rated ones but my local Americas Tires didn't have them in stock and I didn't want to wait so I went with the E ones. The weigth listed by BFG on the website for 315/70/17 E load rate is 64 or 65 lbs can't remember exactly but My Jeep wheels are 25lbs each and the new combo mounted is 90lbs so that weigth is rigth on the money.

I've been looking for some good C rated AT tires and just found your thread! I'm wanting a softer ride than my current E rated Falken AT3's. Do the C rated tires absorb small rocks and particularly washboard roads better than E rated tires?

^^^ I would also like to know.

I'm currently on E rated KO2's but if the ride is a little more supple on the C rated I wouldn't mind trying those next.

The "C" rated KO2's are actually the OEM Raptor tire, at least they used to be when I first discovered and bought them a few years ago for my old 1500. So i found my set $50 cheaper per tire at a Ford dealer vs. any other tire distributer, if I could even find them at another tire distributer, at the time most distributers didn't have access to them yet.

As it was said these tires were designed for the 20 Raptor (315/70/17 C rated) so it's a tough tire that plays well in desert like trails at speed and plays well in all season conditions. Not many tires that are C rated that have a 3 ply sidewall and have an S speed rating.
The difference in this case between C and E is NOT day and night so don't expect a big shift in tires compliance, i run them at 36 psi, max is 45 on the C's,
I have the C ones in my truck, and E ones in my Jeep, same 315/70/17 size. Seems backward but i got the RAM set first :) and i couldn't coordinate a date to have both vehicles in the tire shop at the same time to have them switched. I run the C set in my truck at 36PSI, and the E ones in the Jeep at 32psi.

Per TRA specs
C's achieve max load at 35 psi, (2535lbs), no need to pump at their max (45psi)
E's achived max load at 50spi (3195lbs), no need to pump at their max (65psi)
our RAM's only need 2341lbs per tire to achieve max towing if you're using an LT tire instead of the factory P's

Update time:
Today truck has 108696 miles so 10k miles more, **** and i got these set back in March this year. thread is down at 12/32
Got a nail in one of them yesterday and it's pretty much super close to the sidewall, I thought it was cosmetic so decided to take that nail off with a set of pliers... you can imagine my face when i pulled the sucker and the tire started leaking ******** it. so i had to use my spare and went to Americas tires to see if they could patch it. Bad news is it can't be patched, good news is i bought their certs so it'll cost me $47 OTD to get a brand new replacement with a renewed cert, Bad news is 315/70/17 in C rating are hard to find right now so they located one in Colorado and should be at my local Americas tires by this Friday at best, Next Tuesday at worst.

I was happy with the ride on my 1500, I kept the PSI around 40, and I much preferred them to the 285/60R20 E rated Michelin defenders I would run in the summer time. The defenders were a little quieter, but they were so jarring when i would hit things like, potholes, railroad crossings and man hole covers and stuff. The BFG KO2's were much less jarring over most of the potholes and other crappy road hazards I deal with in NJ on a daily basis.

I ran them on my 2500 for a few weeks also, the ride was like a 1980's Oldsmobile lol.
