Ah. Makes sense. Curious did you guys get a full tank of gas when you bought your trucks (if new?). My dealer only put in $40 worth. :)

I know this is old but I had to comment. When I bought my 2018 used PW last year I asked about a full tank of gas. The stupid moron saleslady I was dealing with said they don't fill up used trucks. I told her I was going to see if my shoes worked to walk my ass out the door. My tank got filled up. I drove 400 miles for the truck and they weren't going to fill it up. Screw that. My dad almost walked out on a new SUV for my mother over a free hat. hahah. I love that guy.

The guys at Mule have installed one in thier truck.

I don't think its listed on the build thread but it's there and operating.

Wonder who else has done this with the gas trucks?

From what I can tell, the difference between diesel tanks and gasoline tanks has to do with the expansion space in the tank for gasoline fumes. The gasoline evaporates, builds a little pressure in your gas tank, then pushes the vapor through the evaporator cannister. Since diesel doesn't have flammable fumes, you can lose the expansion space in the diesel tank and run it. I have not looked inside a Titan tank, but they probably don't have the expansion space nipples extending into the tank.

From my experience with my old diesel Ford truck, they use the same tank but you can do the Harpoon mod http://www.guzzle7pt3.com/harpoon.php to shorten the fuel filler and vent nipples inside the tank. No reason one couldn't make a simple insert to give you the expansion area in the top of the tank. Yes, you lose a couple of gallons, but you should be able to run one for gasoline.

Siphoning gas into the main tank from a bed auxiliary tank can cause the main tank to overflow. For example, here in Phoenix, the sun will evaporate a lot of gas in the aux tank. As the gasoline evaporates and pressurizes the auxiliary tank, it will cause the siphon to start. It could also pressurize to the point where it overcomes a vacuum stop set up

Since you can get a Cab & Chassis truck with a 6.4 Hemi in it, along with the 52 and 22 gallon fuel tanks , would one better off getting the rear mount 52 gallon tank from Mopar?
