Bike rack

Hey all,

Anyone have a hitch bike rack they like? I was looking at the Yakima Ridgeback but not sure if it will work with the tailgate. Thanks.

i have a thule T2, different style rack then that yakima, it just barely clears the tailgate without dropping the rack down. so i dont think that yakima would clear when dropped down but i could be wrong.

I have the Kuat NV. Probably in my opinion on of the nicest hitch racks on the market, also one of the most pricey. Anyways. I had it before the truck, so decided I would still use it. The rack will not clear the tailgate. If the tailgate was not bowed out at the top it would be good. But it hits a wheel tray. Just like an inch too much. I really only use it if I go camping or somewhere further away.

They are expensive but built like a tank. I have the double black hitch carrier. Really like it.

I've got this rack from Saris and love it. It does not touch the bikes anywhere but on the tires, so no marks, scratches etc. It's really great since any size bikes and frames can be accommodated. Mine is a 29", MY WIFE'S A 26". I have since made a 2x4 frame that takes the place of the tongue/hitch and the bikes now ride in the truck bed.

I have yakima holdup hitch rack (currently for sale) if you pull the pin out it will drop low enough to open the tailgate. It's a great bike rack, little pricey but worth it. Nice and close to the bumper when stowed up too. But also kinda covers the license plate, so could be a "probable cause" issue.

i just saw the insta-gaters the other day for the first time. will definitely be picking up a set of those at some point. they have been bouncing in price on amazon from 170ish down to 140ish..
