Haha funny I was just looking at those too! I obviously went to the “hmm what can I pick up locally today?” They looked ok, I checked more reviews at Amazon on the same company/product on different sizes and they weren’t so hot - wasn’t sure it would be worth the gamble…even though the auto zone reviews seem good!
Honestly the only way I know you could do it and the paint not come off would be to buy a new set and then have them powder coated. I had some Weld Wheel Pro Stars done in gloss black. They did my center caps and lug nuts.

I bought McGuard and are very pleased with them. I also used satin black to paint the unpainted ring around the lug hole. I used a toilet roll cut and taped to the correct diameter and a flat piece of cardboard with a hole cut in and the toilet paper tube taped to the back side to use as a screen to spray paint the ring. It’s worked quite well. I did see MOPAR black lug nuts for sale on an OEM MOPaR site recently.

I like the covers, But I don’t understand why u would spend the same amount for covers as u would for the metal lugs?? Do u just want to be able to chg it back n forth?

I bought the ones from Amazon and they are complete and utter *****. Rusted after one winter. Going back to silver and putting covers on them.
I do see that Mopar makes black lugs and am wondering if they’re any good.

I've had the Mcgards on my truck since the first of the year. They are real nice quality but I have some surface on quite a few of them. I know they have a rust warranty so I might have to contact them.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one annoyed by the unpainted ring around the lug hole. I like your approach to resolve the issue. [emoji106]

These are actually new lug nuts with a black finish.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you attach them to the lugs? I purchased these, seems pretty straight forward but still have a bit sticking out past the lug. Did you use some type of lube to slide them into place?
Thanks
Mine just slipped over the stock lug nuts. I had my 11 year old son do half of them.
