No sarcasm, that is Fantastic wear numbers. Was that the Valvoline High mileage synthetic blend?

Just making sure, hard to tell in text lol. It's the Valvoline Max Life 5w-20 synthetic blend. Debating on going longer intervals between changes, but I put the 4700 miles on the truck in about 11 weeks, and I do have a heavy foot.

The Valvoline being a blend I wouldn’t go any longer. I’d go no longer then 4K if it was me. Either way, keep doing what your doing because it’s working.
I’m honestly surprised, Valvoline being a low Moly oil I wouldn’t think it would perform that well.

Will do. Thanks for the info! Will probably send in for analysis every 2-3 oil changes.

Not sure how you feel about your warranty, but after your warranty I’d bump up to a 30 weight oil. You’ll feel it on the performance side but your engine will thank you long term. You being in a hot climate like me the 20 weights are to thin imo. Just something to consider long term.

Yea I noticed when I got the sample it was almost like water as far as thickness. I know I bought an extended power train warranty, not sure how long it goes for though. But will keep in mind. Thank you!

It is very unusual to see any shear with redline, and this was just one uoa so it doesn't mean anything, but it is rare to see redline come down from visc 12. It may be your engine is shearing oil, or something completely different, and it isn't a lot of shear, just a lil rare. I hope you do another one at some point, it will tell us a lot.

You see the tbn, you can run this oil a lot longer if you wish.

Looks good, pennzoil's GtL always good numbers, the other uoa was too early and first redline run always a through away, if you would have stuck with that it lowers exponotially over time. But as long as PP looks that good, mise well stay with it.

In case Jeff forgot, Amsoil always has been one of the if not the best long run oil, looks like new formula still keeps that fact going. TBN retention is second to none.

Hi all,

I dont have a RAM truck, but a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 Hemi and just got my first Blackstone lab report back. Truck has 121,000 miles. First 100k oil changes done at the Jeep dealer and the last four have been done wtih Penzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-20 with a RP oil filter. Changed the oil at 120k and went with PUP 5w-30. What do you guys think?
