Just a random uoa and i see it was a f250, damn if this is usual for a f250 you can see way lower wear then hemi's.

On my last report they recommend going to 12k miles until my next oil change. I don’t think I’ll go that far.892a12f467d4c67abc75d84d539bcaaa.jpg

Changed my trans fluid at 70k recently. I don't see many UOAs of the ZF fluid, so here is one! The truck is used mostly for daily driving purposes in city traffic. I have towed and hauled at near capacity a few times in my time with the truck (bought at 38k miles), so it has been put to work.

ZF Lifeguard 8 was used as the new fluid along with a Doorman trans pan. I'll probably do another drain and fill soon to dilute the older remaining fluid from the recent service.

My last two UOA's - 5.7 Hemi. Running Redline 5W-30 and RP 20-820 filter.

Even if you consider the 1400 miles different, the wear is trending down which is what we are seeing. Anyhow, I would be happy with the first run which is the higher wear, that is normal hemi wear, the second one is better then normal hemi wear imo. The first run was just redline? No additives?

It is also the time where I'd expect wear to continue to trend down. I bet if you keep running uoa's it will only get better.

Good to hear the Redline and RP filter are doing their job. No additives. Just Redline 5W-30 since new.

Look at that lack of sheardown @ 100C. Notably in SC over summertime which is hot all the time. Did you do any towing?

Thanks for posting - awesome oil.

No towing. Just normal driving. Probably more short morning runs to the gym and home, then sitting due to COVID. Like a lot of folks my mileage is down due to being at home more. I’ve gone from about 15-17K miles a year to 10-12K miles.

Not complaining about that. Need to keep this expensive beast for a long time..... :)

Here’s my latest, 5w-30 Redline with the “big”RP filter.

Gave this one a pretty good test, ran her pretty hard with the oil already having almost 8k on it, last 1k miles or so involved a good bit of towing with sustained oil temps around 230*-240* for a couple of hours. Pretty happy with the report.

I'm not sure if I ever seen a 3 column report on a hemi that looked that good, perfect running hemi. You engine is in the time when you get perfect wear numbers, but for a hemi those are as good as it gets. Looks like you are doing everything perfect, your interval looks perfect as well.

Got my winter oil UOA back. I've been having a passengers side tick which I'm thinking is a leak in the shorty header. I had mentioned the ticking in the notes to them and the UOA shows normal wear. Even they commented on how normal this looks. Going back to manifolds probably which is still way better than cam/lifters.bb898a70f88d7fee56da4f138e76a4fe.jpg

holy hell just when I spoke you see that incredible uoa, and we see 0w30 still good visc. How many miles? What was each column starting weights if you don't mind posting Corey?

6 mos to the day in winter, I'd sat that 0w30 redline is a winner.

I'd have to look back on the other UOAs but most of that was RL 5w30 which is 11.9

This was about 3900 miles. Not sure why they didn't put that on the report. I did forget to put the total mileage on it which is 72k

Ok, here's the VOA of PUP 5W-30 API SN Plus I sent in last week. Purchased at Wally World. Not sure if PUP has since move on to API SP?

It's a strange report IMO - very high flash point, but low moly @ only 89ppm, where Hemi's benefit from up to 200ppm. Zinc is high, as are Calcium & Phosphorous. They don't provide pour point temps or cold cranking viscosity. I asked if they'd do NOACK & HTHS for a fee, but they don't.

Thanks for doing that, looks like great oil. Boron seams to be the new go to additive in oils.

Do we know if Red Line changed formula or plans to? i.e. - do they have to upgrade from API SN to SN PLUS or SP?

Maybe people are racing 'Fast & Furious' go carts with 4 bangers and turbos / blowers, so need anti-LSPI oil additives for off-the-line acceleration?
