What is the best replacement? Mine is working intermittently and even then it is extremely weak. I'm wanting to get this replaced over the weekend before the desert gets to much hotter.

Also is this able to be replaced without taking out that dash?

I went through this a few months ago. I ended up buying a used factory one on ebay for $50. The after market ones are noisy. A new one from the dealer is about $280.

Was it bad to replace? Local O'Reilly's has one with a warranty for 113.00

It's an easy job. It's right above the passengers feet under the dash. I went through 3 aftermarket ones. They have a high pitch wine noise to them. I also had a hard time finding the correct one. Napa didn't have the correct one for my truck.

I had to replace mine in my 2nd Gen. I went with an aftermarket. It had the same noise level, but it didn't move as much air. If I had to do it over again, I would have paid the higher price for the Mopar fan.

Good information. I guess any air is better than no air. I just don't want to dump almost 300.00 into an OEM right now. ugh.

You could try taking it out and cleaning it. I have also read that if you live in a dusty area your ac core can get filled with dust and cause a partial blockage.

Took it out cleaned it, still clicking. Bought a new one to replace it to find out I need a 3 prong, not 2 prong connector. The difference in price is about double, might do an OEM from Dodge, about $30 difference from the aftermarket one. I have a couple yards I'm going to check tomorrow.

No... unfortunately, that is the 2 prong blower motor setup which is 1/2 the price as the manual temp control one

Checked and found one for 91.69, double checked online for Autozone found one not too far from me for $116.00. I'm going to see if they will get close to matching Rock Auto since it's the same unit. Only thing I like with buying new is the fact it has a warranty if it goes out in 2 months LOL

My factory blower made a real bad annoying ticking sound and sometimes in the summer it wont come on. I bought one from oreillys for around $100. It was overall louder than factory and now a month or 2 in and its allready mak8ng the annoying ticking noise.
