Thoughts welcome please. Have 2019 4wd Ram 1500 longhorn laramie (non air ride) that currently has pro comp 6 inch lift. Bought body lift kit to add to. Unfortunately the kit was not described as what was delivered. It it 2 inch body lift with 2 inch front leveling kit. I realized if I do this i would need springs or whatever to raise back. Goal is 37's currently 35's on it. Not towing with truck, just runs to Lowes. Only use 4wd during storms and ice. Not off roading. Having concerns about the addition of leveling kit.

Many years I had 05 Ram 1500 Laramie 2wd with Maxtrac 7 inch suspension lift with Rough country 3 inch body lift with 37s never had issue. Its the leveling kit I am concern with.

Comments would be appreciated

I would listen to ole buck. If you really want a body lift then send that one back and order the right one. On a separate note 37s should fit on a 6” lift. Right wheel size and offset will allow you to run 37s with minor trimming or no trimming. I have a 2017 with 35s on a 3” level. I know mine is the older model but the trucks are still pretty similar.

I have an 18 with a 7 inch lift and I fit 37s very minor trimming and 2wds sit lower than the 4x4s with a 6-7" lift kit ..

if you stay below a -25 offset you will clear easily with 37s, you can even clear 38s if you wanted to

I have a 14 limited, former air ride (now deleted) with 6 inch BDS and 3 inch body. I have not had issues with it other than a rattle that turned out to be the steering box bolts loosening up. That was a bit of an issue with my installer as you might imagine. I run 37 inch Toyo’s and no rubbing.

I’ll start with the kit that you have won’t work as that is called lift stacking and is one of the worst things you can do to our trucks. As the owner of the only Ram shop on the east coast I will tell you that we do NOT use body lifts. A 6” lift clears 37’s with no problems at all. I tell a lot of people all over the forums and social media if a shop will do a body lift or install anything rough country they are not a reputable shop. I touch a lot of Rams, and have seen too much. But some of the biggest repair bills go to the body lifts because finding the strange electrical issue takes a lot of time

Thanks to all. I would love a 3 inch kit but for my 2019 its hard to find. Thought about just using 2 inch kit. 2018 has 3 inch but not 2019. Thanks for others opinions on body lifts on top of suspension lifts. Made this ole cowboy think about this more seriously

You can stack lifts but you will be chasing random problems unless you have phenomenal luck in which case you should play the lottery instead

On the heels of this conversation, IF 37's going on truck will I need tune to set for conditions (speed, hp, torque, shift diffs, etc) that I will encounter with 37s going on? Have 5.7 hemi gas. Really do not plan on regearing both ends

You can use AlfaObd to program for the tire size. The computer will self adjust shift points after the tire size is programmed. You can do a tune to help gain some hp to counter the added weight and size of the tires but without regearing you will never have the same off the line response

I wouldn't slap 37s on it if you are not going to regear ... when I first lifted my truck and put the 37s on it I was like "nah it's ok", but then I started driving it more and the truck was just not happy, searching for gears especially going up hills, would drop down to 5th sometimes even 4th and I was like nope ..

Stay with 35s and you can get away with it, I still tell people, 35s and go with 4.56s, 37s 4.88s, but unfortunately going to 4.88s on these trucks especially 4x4s is big job that not many shops will even attempt ...

I went with 4.88s but only because it's a 2wd and it's easier to and cheaper to regear 2wds than 4x4s ....

How much did it cost to regear? I feel the same exact way, at first it didn’t seem bad either. Mines 2wd too, was wanting to get it done soon.

I'd send back and get a regular body lift. I have a 6 inch suspension and 3 inch body with 37s. wheels are 22x14 -76 offset
I did not trim any part of my truck and it definetely rubs on a full turn but I would rather deal with that than trim part of my bumper/body. Took me prob a week to get use to honestly, I cant remember the last time i've rubbed.
But if you get a 2 inch body lift you can still fit 37s with the right wheel demensions.
