I have a 2005 ram 1500 quad cab 4wd short bed . I want to lift it 6+ inches. I only can find two 5in suspension lift kits (rough country and zone offroad) for my year 4wd with independent front suspension. So I decided I would like to do a 5" suspension lift by zone offroad and a 5" body lift by performance accessories (for my exact truck). I have 33 tires should I go bigger tires? Will it be too tall to be road legal in PA? PA law is no more than 9' tall and bumper height of 27" front 29" rear. The body lift comes with bumper adjusting brackets. Can I just put on custom lowered bumpers? Current ground clearance before either lift is 17" with the current 33" tires. Thanks guys!

Not quite sure what it is you are asking. You are wanting to put a 5" body lift on top of a 5" suspension lift? Which would bring it close to a 10" total. If you are wanting to drive it legally on the roads, you will want to ensure it is within the applicable state laws, whatever modifications that you will need to do to maintain the state requirements. To keep within the state laws.
That will also be affected by which ever tire size you choose to put on.

I'm not sure if you are being serious, but most people will tell you that body lifts are bad. I'd personally never do one. With 10" of lift, you could probably run 40s. The 33s will look too small.

They aren't bad but I would not do over 3" I ran one on every truck I owned

People's opinions are always changing with body lifts. My preference is not to do a body lift. My experience is that they creek and squeek all the time. And I mean all the time. You might not like that. And those that have done them will tell you they don't.... But go four wheeling once or twice then the noises start. Invest the money in the right suspension.

I would not go over 3 inches on body lift, after that your asking for trouble. It's too much stress on the body mounts in my opinion, plus all the noise it makes. Go with a 5inch suspension and some nice 35s and you should be good to go. Beside any bigger than that and you have to worry about regearing

I was thinking about adding a 1” body lift, but I can only find 3” minimum.

I did get the body lift kit but it appears that the body lift and my power steps would cause a problem

Because I have 2010 Dodge Ram and I was getting a 3 inch body lift and and a 2 inch rough country suspension lift just shocks and coils . I was wondering if I would get clearance for 35s and off the ride would be ok . Also if it equaled out yo a 5 inch lift

Do body lifts still leave a gawdy huge gap over the bumpers?
33’s aren’t much taller than stock. With just the suspension lift I believe a 37” will work. Might need a thin wheel spacer or offset wheels.

I put a 3" body lift on my '03 dually after the 6" suspension lift. I planned to go bigger than the 35's I had on it, but went another route. It came with the brackets to relocate the bumpers up with the body, so there was no gap. Also came with the inner fender liners to cover the gaps there. I had to trim the rear to fit the dually fenders, but they worked out ok.
