I rolled my truck and am wanting to replace the body. I drove it 40 miles to get it home after the wreck. It is a four wheel drive 2500, manual transmission single cab long bed. My questions are... has any one done this and can give me tips? How difficult is it to swap a manual shift for an automatic shift? Can I swap an extended cab for a single cab and does the extended cab/shorter bed bolt up the same? can i swap a 1500 cab for mine? What year models work and does it get more difficult hooking everything up as the year model progresses?DSCF0507.JPGDSCF0508.JPGDSCF0508.JPGDSCF0507.JPGDSCF0508.JPGDSCF0509.JPGDSCF0513.JPGThanks for any help

I would have to have a good engine & transmission
& a fairly straight Frame, to even think about making it into ranch/off road truck

I've some experience in this situation.
I ran a parts store for 30 years.. I sold DuPoint paint. & ABOUT 50 Body shops traded with me . we were a big parts&paint store. SO I've seen every body swap of every kind done.
But I'd say on yours ... SCRAP IT Stick a fork in, it's DONE. sorry.
But I'l say buy a body type truck with a bad motor in it... Pull your great motor or trans & put them into your new body. This would be a much easier sway in your case than fixing your body & Finding you have frame damage after you've finished .

Imho, you would be better off swapping your power train into another truck. BTW, why would rou want give up your manual?
