My 2015 Ram Laramie 2500 was, for the most part, bulletproof. Fast forward to last Thanksgiving, I purchased a 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn which I LOVED until yesterday. Out running errands and when we returned to the Ram, my key fob wouldn't unlock the truck. Tried the other buttons and NOTHING. Wife tries her fob and NOTHING. I remove the "key" from the fob and unlock the driver's door. As soon as I open it, the alarm goes off and I can't shut it off. Everyone in a crowded parking lot is looking at me. I panic, jump in and try to start the truck. After about a dozen attempts, it finally starts and I was able to kill the alarm. I've tried both fobs a dozen more times and it works every time. Then I get on the internet this morning only to find this is a constantly recurring problem and the dealerships can't "fix" it because the truck responds normally when you take it in. I need my truck WHEN I NEED MY TRUCK! If I'm ever in an emergency situation and I can't get my truck started because of a recurring issue that Ram is fully aware of, there will be hell to pay.

I’ve told this story before: Parked in a grocery store lot a couple of spaces away from a portable CCTV tower. Came out 15-20 minutes later and the FOB was unusable. It reacted exactly as you described yours acting. There were also a Honda and 2 GM vehicles there with their owners experiencing the same problem. After +/- 15 minutes all the vehicles started and acted normally. We all figured the CCTV tower was uploading data and interfering with the FOBs. Can’t say for certain that was the issue but, I’ve purposefully avoided portable CCTV towers since and have never had it happen again. That happened 3 years ago now.

My guess (from experience) is there was some signal emitting in close proximity at the time you had your experience that temporarily interfered with your FOB. Likelihood of it happening again is very remote.

This one still has the wheels on it, which is unusual

I wonder how often they Download & Upload

The portability of WCCTV units means you're not stuck with cameras in one place, and you can dynamically react to changing surveillance requirements.

When you purchase from us, we'll provide:

  • Delivery and set up with an expert technician
  • US-based aftercare support team
  • Desktop and Mobile App software included or integration with a compatible system

I would not be surprised at all. Way back in 1974 I worked in a dam construction office and we had a couple of 73/74 International pickups with new fangled electronic ignition systems. Everybody hated them so they were mostly shuffled off for the mail run or errands into town. The dang things would frequently die on the highway and always at the same place. After awhile it would restart and run again. One of our maintenance guys finally noted there was a big radio tower of some type just off the of the highway at that location and finally put two and two together and concluded the tower when in some sort of transmitting mode was interfering with the electronic distributor and control unit shutting it down. I think they changed to another route into town when having to drive one of the IH pickups.
