Really? I don’t care about your opinion, but facts are facts of which you can verify. Whether you believe that or not it doesn't matter.

Check gasbuddy for the $3.89 in Altavista, VA since you doubt my obviously lying word. Going to fill up there tonight once again.

Mesa, Colorado is $5.999 for 85 octane regular (only grade available) and that's my rural location. It's a Conoco. The price should still be what it was the last time I filled up there. Diesel was $6.499. Contact Grand Mesa RV Park and ask their pump prices since you are insinuating that I am dishonest. There is no other gasoline available nearby. Next gas on the highway is another 40 miles with 52 minutes of 10,000 feet in elevation gain and descent on mountainous roads.

I just purchased gasoline 3 miles north of Altavista, VA. $3.94 isn't bad, but in Altavista it's cheaper. Out of way though.

Holy smokes it’s sad that I’m impressed with $3.xx but haven’t seen that since February I believe. And did not think I would see it till mid terms. I also live in a small town but it only 4.55 compared to 4.30 in Houston.

About PW getting subpar gas, (speaking to the thread) I think it is on par with all HD gas trucks. Gets 2 mpg better then my wife’s SUV. Reason number 13 to take my truck instead!! Haha
But I bet that that changing out the 4:10s with 3:55 would help on the highway. Would lose the low end Torque though.

I'm on my 3rd and last day on the road back to the Western Slope of Colorado. After leaving VA posted regular gasoline prices through I-81, I-40, and the pan handle of Texas didn't exceed $4.xx until the Front Range there were $5.xx stations. Making it over the Rockies today with a 5 hour drive to our $5.999 gas. The 4.10's would help with towing and mountain driving. We had 3 utility trailers in tow. 33 feet long, 14 or 15 foot, and a 10 foot. I was surprised that the 14 foot that I got after a car broke down was so heavily loaded with a quad, fluids, propane tanks, and packed with tools. The Power Wagon towing it didn't effect the MPG due to it got 13 which is what it got coming back with a headwind.

It looks like you have people replying to this thread, on the Power Wagon specific page, that have 1500's????

Anyway, I decided to get a car to make the boring drive back and forth to work probably 8-9 years ago. It had really paid off since gas prices got stupid as my current car literally gets 3 times the fuel economy. Don't get me wrong as I love driving my Thuren equipped PW on 37's, but right now I'm saving almost $350/month just in gas driving to work plus the wear and tear on the truck. Heck, I wouldn't have put the Thuren lift and 37's on it if I had to drive it everyday! As much as I hate to admit it, the car is also a very comfortable ride. To each their own and I don't blame anybody for wanting to drive a PW everyday, but this is just the choice I made.
Bottom line is they all suck on gas mileage. If that's why they bought one, the jokes on them now? lol

Back home to $5.999 85 octane regular gasoline. Trip A was to Virginia and back. 15.5 MPG is due to it's mostly downhill over the Rockies on the last stretch and the computer ignores the earlier bad MPG. I've seen 20 MPG, but it's misinformation due to the 100 plus miles of downhill. Logged 100,000 miles with zero issues. I didn't fill up at $5.999 yet due to I need a few beers to ease the pain beforehand.

I get 14mpg at 70mph on 37's loaded with 400 pounds of gear.
With the stock tires same trip got 16 mpg at 70 mpg.
Took a 2500 mile trip with 3000 pound small offroad Trailer, got 12mpg on 37's and gear.
No matter what tires or weight, If I break 75mph it goes down to 10.5 mpg.
4.11's will do that!

72 MPH while towing seems to be a sweet spot for MPG while towing with 35's.

I get solid 14’s with every tank thanks to the Edge Pulsar. And I don’t baby it to get there.

By the way, I thought this was a Power Wagon forum….

Since I now have my PW I can (finally) comment here: 13.5 mpg on the first two tanks of gas on 35" AT's (speedometer is calibrated) in MS weather.
Not too bad, really, and it's not broken in yet, so gas mileage may improve somewhat over time.

It will improve. Mds active on the highway I got 16-18.
I did not realize I was taking MDS off when I was pressing the gear selector on the steering wheel on my first major trip and I was under 4k on the OD then. But with my wife driving and MDS active, it was 2-3 mpgs better. We would switch at fill ups.

our oldest son bought the wife a Tesla model y so i could afford to drive my Powerwagon.:anitoof:
Save up to 4 cents per gallon in California by purchasing regular versus the premium! That still doesn't make it more affordable.
