I agree range has more to do with it than actual mpg. If I had a 50 gallon tank I would not be so concerned about actual mpg but with these puny 31 gallon tanks it sux
That 50 gallon tank gives me 800 mile range empty and 450+ towing. At $300 option price I think it is a steal.

13mpg around town, who ****'n cares?
If I had wanted good gas mileage I'd have bought a Toyota.
A corolla maybe. Toyota trucks are terrible with fuel consumption; even the 6 cylinder tacoma does like 17/23. My 17 Hemi Ram is averaging roughly 16.2 mpg all city driving.

13-18 in town, 16 to almost 22 on highway, if I keep foot out of carburetor and stay unda 70. Once over 70, well, U know. At 78 I go down to 17. AT 80, down to 16, and and. BUT I do run top tier gas in the truck and Cruise is my Friend on a highway, and I have a full tonneau on back, helps. But I have heavier AT3 tires on truck, so lost 1 to 1 1/2 mpg on the tires.
What gearing fo you have ?

We just returned from our "Wild West Adventure" Saturday. When gas started going to ridiculas prices we nearly canceled it. But we are so glad we didn't, it cost us more than we origanily planned for but being it was our trip of a lifetime and us being 69 & 70 yrs. old we might not have many more chances. We drove 5963.4 miles with a total 8.9 mpg on our 2021 2500 pulling a 11,000 lb. 5th wheel. We were gone 39 nights and saw some beautiful amazing country. I now have 10350 mi. on the truck so I'll be changing the oil again this weekend. I changed it just before we left to have fresh oil in it. I was pleased with the pulling and handling of both truck and camper, I pull @ 65 to 67 mph on interstates and speed limit or 55 on 2 lanes!

Just came back from Winnipeg to Thompson at 740+ kms.. so I know that 16 MPG is very close to 16L/100Kms.. I loaded up with lumber and construction gear to about 2000lbs+ and left Winnipeg at 17L/100kms. Down the highway I was seeing 16L/100kms but hit a storm with very strong headwinds so slowed down some but still lost mileage to 18L/100kms. The last 300kms of the trip was very rough roads, strong headwind and construction so I kept the RPM's in the sweet spot at all speeds (1800 to 2100RPM) shifting to gears to keep me there and when I got to Thompson I was at 17L/100Kms. Could of done better with my other tires instead of having my mudders on but also I would like to get a new valance for the bumper to see how much difference that makes too. Gas is at $2.07/liter so over 200 bucks to fill the tank.. ouch but I got paid to haul the lumber back so that helped. :p

I looked at this thread just for laughs. My baby diesel 1500 gets 27 MPG in mixed city driving around town 32 on the interstate. Better than my wife's heavy v6 Solara convertible and about what my lead footed kid gets with the Nissan Sentra!

I’m confused is this trend about the Power Wagon or all models?

Personally if you buy a power wagon, mpg doesn’t matter.

If MPG matters, buy a 1500. If your not sure if you will like a 1500, just ask any soccer mom and they will be able to tell you all about them.

I'm pretty sure it's about the Power Wagon considering it's in the Power Wagon subforum. I even pointed out how to determine that it's in the Power Wagon subforum, it's either a lack of reading or comprehension.
I'll try typing slower..

I bought a pw and mpg does matter to me, mostly because of the small 31 gallon tank and limited range. Luckily mine gets good mpg

Yup, just like a previous post I made and several others have made............this is a POWER WAGON specific forum. No wonder people get confused on forums when searching for information when the post starts out talking about Power Wagons and then people start throwing in replies about their 1500 diesels.......

Subconsciously everyone wants a power wagon is the most reasonable explanation..,

I only need you to type slower if your explaining a repair that’s more complicated than changing the oil. Lol

Last time I checked they don't put the Cummins in a Power Wagon. This thread is in the Power Wagon subforum, meaning it's about Power Wagons and if you would have bothered to read before blindly posting you would have realized this is for Power Wagons.
A further note the EcoDiesel would have the bragging rights as you can squeak out +30 mpg with them.

And you wonder why we are in the shape we are in.....
