Brake Light bulbs

Does anyone know if the CHMSL bulbs are LED from the factory. I have a '17 1500 Laramie which has LED brake / turn signal lights. I haven't opened it yet, but I'm going to replace the gasket and while it's open I can replace the bulbs with LED if necessary. Looking in the manual it says some are incandescent and some are LED.

They are not. I also believe there is a risk with putting in some LED's will give a tail light error message as the sensing circuit for the CHMSL is on the same tail light circuit for light out monitoring.

I just installed one of these in my 2018 PW, and they are definitely LED - the housing is clear, and the unit has both white and red LEDs.

There were two configuration options in AlfaOBD - one to enable the camera, and one to designate the lights as LEDs.
