One of my guys at work just blew a rubber brake line/hose on his f150 and ended up in a field, luckily without hitting anything. Thing just popped!

Got me thinking about the brake lines on my truck. Approaching 400k miles of HARD driving, the last quarter million of which it has had larger aftermarket brakes. Probably time to replace the soft brake lines/hoses that connect hard lines to calipers.

Since I’ll be going thru the trouble, might make sense to go with some quality stainless braided lines. Anybody know who makes a proper stainless brake line “kit” for our trucks?

If not will go with OE rubber...

I myself am running klm performance stainless brake hoses. Amazing fit and quality.

I am getting the new stainless brake lines with my BDS 6" coil-over kit and should only need the rear lines. Does KLM offer just the rear ones/ I guess I'd just need to call them right?

Throw my vote towards SS Brake lines as well. You can get DOT and non-DOT options. DOT options I believe have an outer sheath to prevent the braided stainless from fraying. I've installed them on numerous vehicles and they make a world of difference to the braking 'feel'.

Rubber lines over time tend to swell or become pliable. There's a ton (or more) of hydraulic force being applied through the braking system and you don't want to risk a failure in daily driving or towing.

Good point...Are the klm lines DOT approved? Didn’t see anything mentioning such approval on their page, and would definitely prefer the DOT “stamp” for liability reasons.
