The power brakes on my son's 1986 D150 are making a very noticeable vacuum leak sound when the pedal is pressed. It that caused by the check valve that draws the vacuum from the engine or does the whole power brake booster have to be replaced? The brakes still feel OK...

Dont know if you still need an answer, but theres a good chance the vaccuum booster has a hole in it. make sure to check the hose going to it that its not split
